3 goals.
He better be a Bombers supporter.
Make them before the game…but eat all the biscuits during the first quarter.
Robey to brush off Sidebottom like a piece of lint to drill his fifth major as the final siren sounds. Bombers by 28.
I thought it was more of a documentary myself
Wouldn’t have been the Rutten era. His first year we led at every break and ran away with it in the last. His second and last ANZAC Day was Ginnivan game and I don’t think the margin was more than a couple of goals all day and it was tight all game
He had so many great games it’s hard to remember them all but this one is a real stand out for me.
Haven’t been to ANZAC Day since about 97ish but going today.
I noticed they stop entry into the ground during the ceremonies. What’s entry like for this one? - when do people normally arrive at Jolimont to ensure they are seated in the bleachers in time for the ceremony?
The lines tend to move pretty quick so I wouldn’t stress too much about it.
thanks Chris
One of my all time favourites, that game.
Somewhere in storage I have the back page of the Hun framed, as well as a full page photo of the golden boy with his golden locks in the golden sun, double fist pumping after his fourth goal.
A few other things stood out from that vid:
-How many stars we had, and were therefore able to carry spuds like Bannister and Reynolds
-How much better the game was to watch back then
-What a unit Peverill was
-Cupido and to a lesser extent rioli are two of the biggest unrealised talents of the century
-Fark, Bolts went alright.
Bolts could’ve been some proto-Blicavs with his skillset. Just never seemed to turn up consistently.
After the rant , the sidekick is pretty funny at the end - ‘Yea’
Sometime less is more.
Yea
History states we should win this one, Pies have never won 4 ANZAC games in a row.
The young Dons are going to thrive. Shifty, May, Kako and Caddy with two each will spread the load and be hard to stop. Tsatas to rise to the occasion and go up another gear in the middle.
A close first half into the 3rd quarter where we pile it on them. Dons by 21, Caddy for the medal.
Cmon boys!
I’M NERVOUS
The Essendon throng will be out in force today. Sometimes you have these games that mobilise the supporter base and there’s a groundswell about this game today. I reckon Essendon supporters can sniff it…
We may get flogged and disappoint on the big stage and show that young sides have bad days among good ones. Hopefully not today. A spirited performance and you never know.
It will be a huge roar when the Bombers enter the field today. An Essendon crowd possibly not this excited since the first game post saga in 2017.
Enjoy the game if you’re attending today.
