Round 7: ANZAC Day, 25th April 2026 versus The Filth

Yes it’s early but I’m guessing folks might have had an early start today.

2 days less rest than our opponents (scheduling Farking genius from the AFL)

Two consecutive road trips.

Played in very warm conditions last week.

Will be 25 damn degrees for a lot of the match.

A bunch of our team with only one or two preseasons under the belt.

Our ability to run out the game will be sorely tested today against a team that continues to arse last quarter, umpire assisted runs.

I can see them slamming on five late goals to our one or two.

Fortunately we’ll be up by ten at 3/4 time.

Us by 32, Archibald Roberts for the medal.

The heart says we’ve got a chance.
The head says Klan by 6 goals

Enough is enough. Time to turn the tables.

ANZAC Day theme (well at least for a while anyway) seems to be them kicking the first 3-4 goals… we play constant catch up in the middle two quarters without ever genuinely threatening… before eventually losing by roughly the same Quarter Time margin.

Yes.

I do recall many examples in the Worsfold and Rutten era of not coming to play in the first quarter before waking up when it’s too late.

That’s better than 47 points.

Won’t be far away today in the end.

Need to bring the pressure we’ve been bringing for the last two weeks. Do that and we’re a shot. Without Moore their backline isn’t great. Must expose it with decent delivery
