"Possible shower" does not mean torrential downpours and wet weather football. Hope the forecast maximum of 24°C doesn't interfere with Essendon's optimum playing temperature of 16.17891°C ... we saw the negative results of this when we played in Perth.
It's 18 degrees here right now, which would be early in the last qtr. I'll be surprised if it's above 20 when the game starts on saturday.

My 2-year-old picked up his plush Bombers footy this morning and gave his impression of how we play with running commentary:
"They run run run... and drop the ball... and fall down."
Hopefully our game plan is slightly more advanced than that this weekend.

It will play wet anyhow. The night games at the Gabba and Cararra are often slippery even if it doesnt rain, due to the humidity. I have more worries about this game than I did about the Dogs game.
Brisbane set up very well against us this time last year and knocked us off at Etihad. They will employ an old fashioned flood and congest our forward line and will attempt to score on the rebound with a very open forward line. Even though its a different coach and a few key players like Rich are missing, the Lions will do the same again.
The Bombers must bring relentless pressure at the contest, the stuff we saw in the first 3 rounds, MUST win contested possession count (didn't vs Dogs) and be quick and direct. If not, I can see an upset victory to Lions.
Probably both Merretts (Z - omitted, J - corky) and Winderlich out for precautionary reasons. Gleeson and Ambrose in.
Here's a long short............someone like Heppell, Zaharakis, Howlett or maybe an Ashby "rested", and Aylett or O'Brien will come in.
May not see Bellchambers until after the bye now, because my all reports he's still well short of match practice any may need another 2-3 games in the VFL.
Thought Fletcher would be rested for this game, but after his match-winning performance on the weekend, we can't afford to!!
