Round *yaaawwwn* 14 - The days are getting longer

The lad they got with pick 14 in the Carlisle trade looks very good. Jade Gresham.

Can play.

Has anyone else observed that the home game advantage seems to me more pronounced this year than in recent seasons past? Maybe it’s just the result of a very even competition but the Saints are pretty formidable at Etihad, and pretty ■■■■ everywhere else.

How frustrating is Motlop.

Even though he wasn’t there, his attitude is the epitome of why they lost in 2008. They can’t do simple things simply. There has to be a degree of difficulty of 9.5 with a 2 and a half pike with twist.

And as soon as Clark is available, Rhys Stanley is toast. Dunno whether he filled his duds, but fumbling a handpass in the goal square, plus Motlop’s stuff-ups didn’t help Geelong.

People think Geelong got the wrong end of the umpiring? Really? Selwood should have a chat with McCartin if he wants to have a sook.

The part of the game I saw Geelong was getting an arm chair ride from the umpires so kinda amused that an umpiring decision the other way is being seen as deciding the game

How much of a sook was Chris Scott in his post match presser? lol

Personally I didn’t see much wrong with the umpiring at all. Probably only watched 40 minutes. The one glaring shocker was the HTB on the wing.

But every time I come into this thread, all I read is how bad the umpires are and how they’re giving one side an armchair ride, and it’s all from the usual suspects (not wim). All b-s. Too many people want the umpires to compensate for their own incompetence.

No, we just want consistency

Hawthorn just don’t care about the design of their jumpers at all, do they?

Look like someone dropped a packet of Musk sticks into a bucket of shitt.

They’re determined to keep Mero busy. Can hardly blame them for that, but not this time.

Mr Courageous Hodgey really struggling early on

Thought I’d get a weekend off frustration with Essendon having the bye, enter Gold Coast…

never seen a team more ashamed of their own colours they just dont know what to do to get rid of the ■■■■ n poo stigma

The umpiring this year is appaling and in that game it wasn’t the best for both sides, it didn’t particularly acheive a result for either side and that is not particularly my point.

An example was todays game when a Hawks player was going for a mark and a Suns player came running from the side and leapt over the Hawks player to punch the ball and spilong the mark, the ball went out of bounds. The ump called deliberate. The rule states that if it is a contested situation then it isn’t classed as deliberate. The ump got that wrong and it could have cost a goal (it didn’t thankfully).

I personally think the umpiring is worse than I have seen for quite a while but I do not blame the umps, I blame the AFL for the constant fiddling with the rules and confusing the hell out of the umps who can’t keep up with all the new interpretations the head guys come up with. Every week there is a tweak of something or a focus on something. Leave it alone, keep the rules simple and then watch as the umps start getting it right more often.

Putting 4 umps out there isn’t fixing the issue, it is making it worse.
