Whaddya reckon re: Reece Hodge? Has been cited for a dangerous tackle & is due to face a disciplinary hearing here in Tokyo. Could be goneski for a couple of games.

The commonpotatoes spoke about and they had mixed opinions but based on the hard hits in this Eng/Tonga game, that the ref has queried but they have been okayed, he shouldnât be suspended. But, who knowsâŚ

Engalndâs ball movement was not great. They should have totally run over the Tongans and blown them away.
I think Hodge is in trouble. No arms and got him high. Player couldnât come back on cos of concussion. Should have been a red card during the game and a possible penalty try.

Automatic 2 game ban.
Unfortunate, but that is the correct adjudication. Hodge had no tackling intent. And Yato was concussed and looks likely to miss Fijiâs next game.

Ridiculous that the Wales vs Georgia game isnât being televised in the host country.

I didnât realise that it was a complaint from the Fijian team that led to Hodge being cited. Apparently the ref checked at the time and sent it up to the video ref too - thatâs why there was no card or penalty at the time.

The second tier teams feel they get the hard end of those sort of calls. If a Fijian player did that to Hodge, I think he would have been carded
It should have been dealt with better by the referees during the game.

Agreed, harsh. Suppose they are trying to make a statement about shoulder charges. I wonder if the one we just saw in the Eng v USA game, will get a couple of weeks.
