Not Brazil, but a highly respected Brazilian who has commanded UN peace keeping operations. Brazil is awash with skilled international diplomats, don’t judge them by their Presidents.

As to the state of play on ZNPP, signs that negotiations may be making some headway, if still fluid.
From the UN SG statement of 18 August

  • in close contact with IAEA, UN Secretariat has assessed that we have in UA the logistics and security capacity to support an IAEA Mission to ZNPP from Kyiv
    • provided both UA and Russia agree

So, reading more tea leaves, the sticking point seems to be that Russia does not want it to be seen that UA has contributed to sorting this out - and that UA will have no authority in the Plant, comes under some sort of international control ( UA does not regain that territory)

“The pro-Russia governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhayev, said: “There is no damage. No one was hurt.”

If it’s Russians doing the shelling, they will justify as defending their territory, need to stop UA army advancing .

They announced in advance that Ukraine was going to shell them. Got the Russian staff to not come into work. All the hallmarks of a pathetic Russian false flag operation.

Russia has no qualms in revising the facts to suit its agenda, as in sabotage not accidental
I understood staff at ZNPP were Ukraine, kept the rotated technical experts on deck, support staff and rostered techs re-located away from the building.
Smoke and mirrors as the deal gets finalised on IAEA restoration of security of the plant. Neutral IAEA, no bad mouthing of Russia.

Is the ABC doing satire, interviewing David Van cosplaying as an expert from the Warfront, on UA equipment needs, NATO and Australian fails, cosplaying down to copying Zelensky T shirt.
David Dan, former PR guy, an undistinguished Senator from Victorian, elected in 2019.
Greg Jennett looking forward to broadcasting more from Van across the ABC network.

Hey, as you were saying, the guy has found his niche… He is bringing the public attention in our largely apathetic country back to the Ukraine War and the need for our ongoing commitment to support the Ukrainians - so I hope he keeps it up.

Our largely apathetic country???

Yep, that’s what I wrote. I may be wrong but most people up here are sunbaking on Coolangatta beach and don’t give a ■■■■ about the war

And what about those on a Bomberblitz site posting on non Ukraine threads!

I suppose they care about footy. Maybe they don’t care about the Ukraine war. But this thread’s existence is proof that some do.

Or, conclusions could be drawn about those who post exclusively on this thread

Maybe you could draw your own conclusion that they don’t follow footy
