Russia invades Ukraine - 2 - from 4 May 2022

The “oil shock” is overstated.
Most states aren’t producing to their stated quotas at this stage so the net impact is actually less than 1% of total current output.

Today Putin said that he’s always had “enormous respect” for Ukraine as well as its culture and language #2 : UkraineWarVideoReport (reddit.com)

Or kidnapping the DG of the ZNPP, the one in charge of keeping it safe from radiation, including for the Russians in the annexed territory and the potential conscripts.
His release from ‘temporary detention’ is not being publicly presented as hostage exchange.

Check out these Polish machine guns

Translation in brief from Redditor ruchawka : “This is help from Poland - Polish-produced take on PKM, very nice because Ukraine has a lot of 7.62x54 in storage <note: i thought ukm-2000 is chambered for nato 7,62x51, but maybe poles also produce them unmodified for soviet cartridges?>. Let’s unpack. A device for filling up the belt. Nice kit - 2 machine guns, 4x100 and 2x250 ammo boxes for each one. Our detachment will install day, night and infrared sights with this Ukrainian produced adapter. and we will do everything so that there are more good russians every day.”

Russian propaganda will be pleased with articles in the NYT ( largely copied in Al Jazeera) attributing the death of Darya Dugina to Ukraine.
The article cites anonymous US intelligence as the source, including US admonishment of Ukraine for an inappropriate target.
The article suggests that Zelensky may not have been aware, due to disconnects between different arms of the UA political/military structures.
If the article is factual, it could be taken as a public message to UA to get its house in order in coordination and to refrain from further actions of this type targeting civilians on Russian soil.

This may be an extremely significant statement. Huge shift in rhetoric.

Kherson it is then. Putin’s Waterloo. His killing field of young RU whom many wish they weren’t there at all. I just hope a private corp of the Kremlin, KGB Colonels and others inside realise this is an unwinnable war for Russia. And act now.

Meanwhile Ukraine will rumble on SSE and be relentless.
