Still wondering about the pair of small white UFOs or eggs laid by hockey pucks perched on each of the red cap drones.
From a very hasty look my impression is that people stayed home to watch Moscow Victory Day parade on TV as recommended by Mayor.
Pictures of the parade and official stands I have seen give impression Putin was addressing “crowds” but I did not come across any pictures of a crowd lining a street.
Have not looked properly. Can anyone supply a link showing a crowd attending that are not in official stands or participants?
If my impression is accurate I would count it as similar to the Grand Prix in Melbourne at start of covid - the event proceeded “as planned” (like the invasion) but only official participants, not the usual significant numbers of general public.
But quick glance suggested it was being reported as merely “scaled back” and Putin is described as speaking to the “crowd”.
Anyway, it is over now so no reason for Ukraine to launch an offensive earlier than otherwise optimal.

That’s a bit misleading. It led out the parade, followed by a pile of military hardware.

Watching on TV, a reporter from Kyiv said there were conflicting reports, including that Russia had pulled back 3 kilometres in Bakhmut.
There seems to be an Ukrainian attack SW of Bakhmut.
No idea if this is just a local counter-attack or part of something bigger.
My suspicion with Wagner is they made a commitment to take Bakhmut before May 9 and failed. The conflict with the army over ammunition is likely a means to deflect blame.

Wagner chief also muddying the waters on Russian pull backs. IIRC, something was said that the Wagner troops were instructed to go on the offensive, so any pull back would not be Wagner troops.
