As well as that entire thread full of comments insisting that more arms should be sent to Ukraine faster I am seeing more and more scattered comments on that theme when looking at other threads linked from here.
Especially pointing out that aircraft demanded by Ukraine are essential for combined arms breaching of heavily reinforced entrenchments and long range ATACMS for stopping the stand off attacks.
But most significantly some comments are starting to mutter about why Ukraine is required to fight alone, with only supplies from it’s “allies”.
As emphasized by Ryan, “loyalty” is much more important than competence for current regime that has lost elite support as well as popular support. They have every reason to fear people less subservient and more competent being in charge of armed forces.
Seems pretty clear that large numbers of fascists in Russia would like to replace both Gerasimov and Putin. China is not giving the impression that it would be less likely to provide necessary munitions etc if somebody more serious (and less keen on “irresponsible” waving of nuclear weapons that China does not want waved) were to take power.
Long term future is with the Russian opposition to the war, when it gets its act together. But a response to further Ukrainian victories could well be a more competently led fascist regime with more support from China.

The Siversky-Donets canal which supplies the region remains largely under Ukrainian control but has been frequently contested along its long route. Russian forces have likely been seeking to secure the canal to reduce water scarcity within Donetsk.
Looks like the UK MoD Defence Intelligence updates are based on speculation about announcements.
Should be paying more attention to OSINT like Ukrainian artillery planner Arty Green’s expert explanation of significance of Siversky-Donets canal as a comfortable defensive position for Russians and potential launch points for Ukrainians when time for offensive to retake Donbas.
PS Also somewhat illogical - control of water flow in the canal mainly requires control of the source, at the Siversky River end, not control of the various points where canal is “frequently contested”.
