Good article from Ben Hodges.
“To show a Leopard on the battlefield at such an early stage was probably, in my view, intended to draw a lot of attention to that area, perhaps as a decoy”

Ru soldier falls off a BMP and is left behind. Lucky guy, since it ran over a mine a little bit later.

With more and more videos emerging from the Ukrainian perspective of the failed Bradley/Leopard attack of Ukraine’s 47th Mechanized Brigade I can only say: these soldiers need better officers.
Besides being sent into a minefield, they also got ambushed by russian attack

The locomotive depot in Russian-occupied Melitopol has been destroyed…
Not a lot of good news coming from Russian sources this morning
What is it about Putin and tables?
He has gone from the absurdly long to the absurdly short.
Noticed from link at same source, a very encouraging article on French policy, which is now clearly ahead of the USA (and of course Australia) in aiming clearly for defeat of Russian fascism:
Ukraine is where such analysis can be made, based on actual knowledge of what actually happened and why, not twitterering about tweets.
Good news for who?
Not much in the way of good news for the RuAF. Yesterday there was talk of some successful counterpunches on the Zhaz front in / around makarivka but it seems they have failed.
Edit: also concern about encirclement for the troops in the north of this map and notes that RuAF are ‘underperforming’ on this front
Watch this video that was created to help ordinary Russians feel pride in their country on Russia Day.
Every line sounds like a joke.

Reportedly Sweden is to extradite a PKK Kurd to Turkey and has charged another.
On its way to NATO.
Meanwhile, the Weimar trio (France, Germany and Poland) have been promoting Ukraine membership, while Stoltenberg refers to membership when the guns stop.
The EU proposal on asylum seekers is an attempt to paper over the cracks between EU members, with an arrangement involving an EU role in negotiating resettlement if one member refuses to accept genuine refugees. Poland continues to maintain that it has done more than others in taking in Ukraine refugees entirely at its own cost (which is not true) and that such burden is justification for not taking in any from other countries.
Macron’s vision of one Europe , no more Old and New (East) in policy approaches.comes at a time of domestic discontent and losing its post colonial power in three Central African countries. This at a time of a deterioration in relations with Tunisia , with the EU stepping in to try to resolve Tunisia’s role in sub Saharan African refugees.
Sounds like a smart guy, I’m sure he will be missed. More loss of senior leadership
Reportedly , the Akmat paramilitary group of the Chechen Special Forces has agreed to be absorbed into the Russian regular army.
There have been reports of discontent of serving military in regard to the pay offered to those signing up, in excess of the salaries of the existing forces .
More subtle than previous send ups that were widely taken as genuine.
But I don’t believe the irony was accidental.
Even if it turns out to actually be produced by Russian State I would assume it was deliberate sabotage.
Most interesting thing in that is the suggestion that ammunition supplies are problematic.
