Russia invades Ukraine - 5 - from 2 October 2023

No, that refers to the grade that Trump got in year 5.

This is a theory bandied about by those who never met a Ukrainian person. The CIA being all powerful and masterminding every event in the world is a fun tale. Problem is the CIA had largely scrapped its Russian studies division and was mainly focused on counter terrorism operations in the Middle East and Africa.

As much as it isn’t a fun alternate story, I think the most likely explanation of what happened is the USA didn’t give a flying ■■■■ about Ukraine and were taken completely unawares by what went down. The US had nothing really to gain by a change in the status quo and no interests in the area of any note.

Neglect and incompetence is far less fun I know.

Well I think the US are war mongers who have slaughtered 100s of thousands of innocents in “protecting the free world” whilst in tandem freeing up those countries wealth, & I think Russia is just as bad.

Meanwhile we have a UN that sits by observing the carnage.

I just like to think there is a better path for the world other than might is right

The ambivalence of other countries and lack of action / wet lettuce against Russia for anything they did 2014 onwards clearly emboldened Russia. Conspiracy not necessary!

Thanks Benny, great summary & good counterpoints to my questions.

Whilst I still think the yanks are the evil empire, maybe they are innocent of the engineering of the lead up events in the Ukraine. I know Russia is just as bad btw as is China. I want them all to shut the fark up & live in peace & use their gun $$ to advance humanity.

If you think Russia is just as bad, and Russia was the clear aggressor here, why are you blaming the US?

US CENTCOM twitter account of 4 April announced the further transfer of seized weapons and munitions to Ukraine.
US claims the seizure was from ships smuggling Iranian armaments to Houthis, in contravention of UNSC Resolution 2216 and humanitarian law.

  • one of those UNSC resolutions when a veto power was not exercised.

Maybe @Bomber1408 was right to blame the US. Because they sure are accommodating.

Were they the clear aggressor though? Is not encouraging x Soviet states to join NATO a clear aggressive tactic by “the West” (eg the US) …. a clear future threat to the Russian state.

Lets not forget Germany & France have previously invaded Russia leading to the deaths of 10s of millions of Russians

NATO is a defensive alliance. There is nothing “aggressive” about it

Hahahahaha…
NATO’s gonna take ground from Russia, are they?

conspiracy theories about NATO becoming some supranational invasion force are exactly that, and nothing more

No … their end goal is to force regime change (proper peoples democracy) so they can get their mitts into the Russian resources, which at the moment is the exclusive rights of the Russian elites (eg Putins cronies).

“Democracy” is a term that seems to be more about the rich than the people these days … its all corrupt, including in Australia. The rich just get richer no matter what system of government there is

Or…Russia got expansionism into their heads.
Rest of the world (especially the expansionised) said, no…stay tf in your lane.

Russia said no, hahahaha…bombs go brrrr.

Friggin’ weird take to suggest Western European nations secretly want to take Russian territory because Russia invaded.

But then…you are friggin’ weird.

Edit: how many times has French media said, ‘we should nuke and invade Moscow’, lately?
Because the reverse has absolutely been said.
But again, you ignore anything that doesn’t fit your insane world view.

Watch less YouTube nutters.
