Barry, is that Russian losses in Ukraine or Russia or both combined?
Overall I reckon.
This sounds so surreal that it must be true, or at least mostly true. I doubt that l will ever be surprised at the sheer depth of RU incompetence, it is on another level. I guess the high command can afford to be flippant with the situation, after all they will never visit the front lines, so the loss of life is not something they will ever contemplate on.
Liked the bit about the drones opening up the defences and then the Rangers cleaning up then calling them Drone Rangers, nice one.
I know this is a one sided thread, but is there anything from Putin sine the invasion?
You’d think this would be pretty embarrassing for him.
The Kursk incursion must further terrify air forces around the globe, they seem… mostly redundant soon enough, enemies can walz in and you’re still too scared to go after them with fighters due to how good air defenses are, amazing

Black smoke is coming out of one of the cooling towers at the Zaporizhzhia NPP. Ukraine suspects that this is a Russian provocation and that a large number of car tires were set on fire there. It is difficult to say what it is.
But in reality, there is really nothing to burn in the cooling tower, so it looks very much like arson.
Maybe this is a provocation to accuse the Ukrainian Armed Forces of shelling or attempting to attack the Zaporizhzhia NPP? Then we are waiting for statements from the Russian side about this. If there really was shelling, it is strange that the cooling tower itself is not damaged and intact - you have to manage to get inside it with a shotgun or a racket without damaging the walls. I do not believe it. It is at least 150 meters high, and about 50-60 m in diameter at the top. Something has to be dropped vertically from above.
Well, or from below from the ground. Russia will say that this is a group of saboteurs? But why would they burn down a cooling tower? They would need to put in a lot of fuel to do this. It is unclear why there would be such a fire - I repeat, there is nothing to burn inside - its walls are made of reinforced concrete, and inside at the bottom there are only metal pipes.
Perhaps there was a warehouse of something flammable or explosive inside? Then it could have been either an accidental fire or a really targeted drone attack on this warehouse, which set it all on fire if it was a military warehouse or something.
The main thing is that these cooling towers are currently not used by ZNPP in any way and are not important for its safety. When the units are operating at capacity, they are used to cool the water that cools the turbines, to help the cooling pond. In the current mode, when all the reactors are in cold shutdown, they just stand and are not used.
And they are 1.5 km from the nearest power unit. So there is no risk of any radiation accident. It is not surprising that even the Ukrainian side says that the radiation background is normal (in other messages).
In short, we are waiting for some statements either from the Russian side with potential accusations (which will reveal the plan if this is a provocation) or from the IAEA. The latter, even if they are not allowed to the cooling towers (for sure), will at least learn the position of the Russian side and their explanation of what is happening.
But the main thing is that whatever it is, a fire at a cooling tower does not pose a risk of a nuclear threat itself. But it can be a preparation for something…](x.com)
Surrendering is the best chance many, if not most conscripts have of surviving combat, even if technically they are not there.
Update 242 on the IAEA site and its twitter account has full details. Reportedly a drone strike started a fire.
Another stupid and inept “Hey! Look over there!” trick from the russians that is fooling nobody.
Lots of evacuees to clog up the highways and play some havoc with the movement of RU troops, forward or back.
