He has very few if any redeeming qualities.
He wants to end the war. Probably to boost his ego. Profit from it as well probably.
Zelensky has to know this. If he doesnât trust him, donât involve him. Donât go to sign an agreement you are not happy with. Donât waste everyoneâs time.
Obviously he thinks Trump would be useful in some way to meet his people and to travel to the US to meet Trump.
The fact that you cannot see that Zelensky didnât handle this appropriately and worsened his countries position is the point.
We all know trump is a â â â â . He should have as well and acted differently.

At the end of the day a deal might not be possible with Putin or a deal is not accepted to Ukraine. If that happens, it happens. It should go part of the way to a future deal.

Thatâs if a Trump ever intended to give Z anything apart from a â â â â sandwich. Sounds to me like Trump got what he wanted.
Vance was there to ensure the pathetic little endgame played out appropriately. If it was just Trump it couldâve gone anywhere, including making concessions to security guarantees - that he would later claim not to have made.

Zelensky wouldnât sign in Kyiv without a security guarantee. He wouldnât sign in Munich without a security guarantee.
He came to Washington ready to sign. Despite Bessentâs protestation that he was never offered a security guarantee, it is apparent that he came to Washington with an expectation that some guarantee was on offer.
However, in talks preceding the presser, Bessent and Rubio were unable to deliver on what they had held out to him.
So, the cover up was to make Zelensky look bad at the presser, his arrogance and disrespect to Trump, trashing Putin when overtures were needed to get him to negotiate.
Vance on cue deflecting from the substance of what Zelensky thought was a conversation, with not saying thank you at the presser ( when he had previously laid on the thank youâs with a trowel) .
The sign was there that his dress would be raised as a form of disrespect , when Trump met him at the door , cynically saying to him that he had frocked up for the occasion. .
Where Zelensky failed was that he didnât read the room and took the bait at the presser. It was a total set up.
