Long may they continue to melt down.
In a land that is built on so much paranoia the bombing of the bombers is going to make every petty official even more suspicious. Truck drivers will now be viewed as complicit in any number of unrelated events.
Edit: The flow-on effect will slow down everything and disrupt supply chains.
Yes, you wouldnât want to be a truck driver in russia right now. Katz speculates that the FSB will scapegoat a lot of people in the industry, especially migrant workers and that they might end up attempting to forcibly nationalize the whole industry:
Yes, l watched that and concur with Katzâs conclusions, especially the part about how the RU spy agencies will over react to cover their own incompetent arses.
The Stans are in Asia, this is where they are from
Yesterdayâs events show the flow on effects of a protracted war. Your enemy has time to adapt, to plan, to maneuver, to strike back on their own terms. Essentially, Russia lost in the early days on the road to Kyiv. Three years later, they arenât just mired, theyâre being mugged on their own turf. Thereâs no such thing as a win from here, even if they do gain some territory in a settlement. The cost in manpower, economics , prestige and strategic imprint elsewhere is incalculable. And of course, the blood is spilled by the common folk of both sides. The power brokers remain at a distance.
Russiansâ definition of victory may differ.
Of course. But Russians have always had their own bizarre take on self martyrdom and suffering. Which doesnât change the reality externally.
When you say trillions are you talking roubles? From what I read the NWG is more like 100 billion with only a percentage of that liquid. If you add in gold and international reserves it goes to 800 billion with about 300 of that frozen.
As @Benny40 pointed out the drone attack is a wake up call for everyone.
Does this mean fighter jets must be kept indoors, with the windows closed?
How do you defend a hundred or so drones attacking at once? Is there an air defence system built for this?
Yes roublesâŚbut the liquid and realisable portion is the critical issue as you allude to.
We want an insolvent Russian economy in the short term ie in 2025 so they remove their mutant rat of a leader, but it doesnât look imminent.
Arms race is already on. Ukraine has developed autonomous kinetic weapons to defend against them, western countries are doubling down on energy weapons to counter drones (Japan also) because you canât get faster than light
The counter to that will be drones with shielding against those weapons (which makes them heavier and slower), then youâll probably get investment in kinetics again (ie railguns)
Auto turrets, laser cannons, hardened shelters, drone netting, electronic warfare and camouflage are going to become the norm from here on out. Everything the army does will need to be underground, engineers are going to become absolutely critical in the new age.

Yep, cUAV is a huge growth area, weâre now spending a significant effort in our offerings in that space.
Past performance is no guarantee of future performance, etc.
General Assembly human rights advice is of a standard nature only and not specific to Russian circumstances; the State Duma expects to treat you with disrespect and asks that you act differently; Russian navy not intended as a flotation device; please see your frontline if pain persists.
good one!
Shouldnât it be 3x Tu-95 Damaged?
