this would be just as ungenuine

players haven’t been under proper scrutiny and pressure at the club for over 10 years. why would they suddenly start this week?

the same sentiments have a way of permeating throughout a supporter base even without a forum or social media to facilitate it

my dad is probably victoria’s most offline person but his thoughts/sentiments on the club and the game are also about 90% concensus on here

I don’t get why this mob needs to lower themselves to the level displayed by the players.
If it cuts too deep, do yourself a favour and chuck it in for the year.
Elevate your self respect

Agree 100%

Person screaming could have been 19 too.

You are an adult at 19 and can consume alcohol , forget your frontal lobe hasnt fully developed.

But yeah its probably not.

I had a great time. Caught up with my mates, only to find 2 more ex-students were also there. Guys l hadn’t seen for 40 years. The game itself was a disaster. Players lacked intent and l knew Langers was going to miss and that was the ball game right there. I had to take a bus from Southern Cross to Pakenham. The train was at the station when we arrived, but we had to wai 10+ minutes to get on, and it was about 1 C with the wind. Even on the train l was still cold. I didnt thaw out until I had been home for half an hour. I would do it all again any time to meet up with those mates again.

Go Bombers.

Its crazy how a few months ago it was as close as the “lid being off” sitting in the top 4 and after 1 big loss it can all go from lets trade everyone for some ■■■■ picks. Everyone sooking and saying lets gift games to some teenagers which will probably just weaken our side which will lead to another thumping and then complain why it hasn’t magically turned us around plz stfu.

Brad is not the issue how can it always be the coaches fault (worsfold, rutten, hird). Its the ■■■■■■■ weak private school gen z players on our list who can’t take criticism and accountability for their jobs which is to play 4 qtrs of footy a week. Dropping their heads, jogging and slapping each other up saying its all good (heppell). Its the culture and leadership and personalities of the players on the list. Heppell has been a good servant but unfortunately has/is not what the club NEEDS. There is no way leaders like goddard, tex, sicily would accept this mediocrity. Zerrett is the only leader on our list with no other support who epitomizes anything to what the club needs. He needs to retire and the club will be better for it.

For once we actually have a coach who looks ■■■■■■ off when we lose and isn’t afraid to tell the players some hard truths. I just hope he can tell 2mp how someone his size can play like someone who is 5ft, why gresham is allergic to applying pressure and tackles, and why a professional athlete (cox) cant drink a few protein shakes and put on some muscle after being 4 years in the system.

Guy on the left is ■■■■■■■ nailing it. Spot ona bout Hawthorn going past us and recruiting players with elite DE while we bring in jobbers who couldnt kick a ■■■■■■■ biscuit tin over

Essendon AFL would not even make a good VFL team.

We are not fools, so stop and wake up.

Why should Zac Merrett retire from footy? If he has any sense at all, he ought to go elsewhere and play for a team who knows how to and wants to win.

I meant Heppell not Zac.

Okay boomer.

Talking bout hepps

The only reason I’ll go to a game this year is to pay too much for a hot dog. It won’t be to watch the game.

They’ve got a very good rapport those 2.
The dynamic just works.

I find most of the Ess Pods to be super cringe, because there’s always a weak link which makes them unlistenable IMO (Don the Stat the exception).

you listened to the sash?

Fucken funny and pretty spot on. Up the planes.

As finals chances went out the window on Saturday afternoon, is it not time to give some of the AFL players running around each week in the VFL. a go? If the coach and selectors aren’t careful there are three players on the radar of other AFL clubs, namely Hobbs, Bryan and Tsatas. Richmond is keen to get Tsatas on their 2025 list. Bryan is an up-and-coming ruckman most clubs would welcome. Hobbs can’t get a game because we have “excellent on-ballers on our list”. List managers stuffed up getting rid of D’Ambrosio to Hawthorn who are delighted to have him on their list.
The conservative coach and other team selectors seem frightened to make changes to the team. There are about 25 players who currently rotate each week. Injury to one of the 25 forces a change. The last two weeks we went from Kelly and Goldstein for the Crows game, then dropped those two for Heppell and Wright for the Saints game. Nothing at all was gained by those changes. They are all list cloggers now. Ridley and Jones are on the injury list.
Four games to go for Essendon. How about this team for the Freo game?
B McGrath McKay Weideman
HB Hind Hayes Redman
C Duursma Durham Martin
HF Stringer Cox Hobbs
F J.Davey Langford Caddy
R Draper Caldwell Merrett
IC Bryan Tsatas Parish Setterfield A.Davey

OUT: Heppell, Wright, Laverde, Shiel, Gresham, Menzie, Perkins, Ridley and Jones were injured. Stringer is lucky to be picked only because there isn’t anybody else worth considering.
Nine changes. It would never happen. But after last Saturday’s dismal effort, something needs to happen at the selection table. Sure, Freo might win by 60 points against this team. Freo might win by 60 points if most of last week’s terrible team were picked.

I don’t mind the Sash but there pods go for an hour can’t be arsed sitting through the whole thing maybe if they can trim it to about half hour it will be good

I like the start but the hot takes are tepid at best
