And then you’ll have a sook when they come back later than initially expected
Injuries don’t work the way you think they do

No I want
If a player is listed as 3-4 weeks and dosen’t get back in that time so be it
Something like this will do it’s not that hard
He’s finishing his last rep before ■■■■■■■ off.
Wonder if Clako will take him back
Surely gone. The new structure of the department will be interesting.
Murphy was a Clarko plant to deliberately f$$k us up…….he should be fired tomorrow 9am
Yeah, remember before him how we were always really fit, running out games showing consistent performances, hardly any injuries & peaking at the business end of the season???
I have no idea if he’s any good & I don’t care at all if he’s replaced but I don’t think we’ve been noticeably any better or worse in this area over the last 20 years.
Who was the fitness person in 2000 ?
Seem to recall that in 2000, we played 4 quarters and were fitter and tougher than anyone else. Brisbane and Collingwood then drugged up to bulk up and out muscle everyone until the rest got on the gear.
True. Doesn’t help that’s we’ve drafted undersized players for the last 20 years as well
I just don’t see how we can publish a report saying players aren’t fit enough then keep on the guy who is in charge of running the fitness program
But has Murphys manager changed?
who he reports too.
John Quinn
Thats where it all started…sack Quinn
we had bigger lists back then, and injuries could be covered better. We probably respected time off more, and now we think players can magically recover in a week or two because swans or Geelong players can play through injuries.
He is in charge of a department with staff and a budget that is likely inherited, he also may be acting on direction from others. I don’t think it is at all as simple as ‘sack murphy’, the issue may be/have been elsewhere.
I think that is a finding of the review. It is not so much the personnel but the system they were working in.
In some cases it may have been the personality/power of particular people, but it seems to be a recognition of process over people.
yeah i tend to agree. before this we were saying the same thing about Justin Crowe. Hearing also that they players have been unfit for quite a while as well would also be adding to the injury list
Didn’t Devon Smith say (yell) he was surprised by how the level of training intensity was so much less compared to GWS?
Apparently that was Shiel?
I vaguely remember a similar sentiment expressed by Goddard. Could be wrong specifically on him but it seems to be a recurring theme.
Very disappointing if true.
Brad Scott is going to smash them this preseason. It’s even called out in the letter from Barham. No wonder some of the players are kicking off training early…otherwise PAIN
But players always say how tough the pre-season has been.
