Surley the AFL must audit the Collingwood cap. While they are at it, perhaps look at the welfare and governance issues surrounding the trading of players. This is about as disgraceful as it gets. If the AFLPA is not screaming from the roof tops about this they are urine weak.
On another issue the Collingwood list manager reminded me of the Iraq information minister.
If you are going to send someone out to lie for you, make sure the lie they are going to tell is believable and that they can actually lie.
If a panel of your footballmates can’t be decieved you are stuffed.
Finally where is Fat Eddie? His time to come out, face the music and apologise was 2 weeks ago…

After Essendon traded Heffernan, there was the Heffernan clause which prevented a player with a certain period left on his contract from being traded against his will.
I wonder how much influence Buckley had in the trades.

Think the “Heffernan Rule” was that you can’t trade a player within 6 months of signing a new contract. Heff signed a new deal in 2002 (so was to begin 2003) but we traded him at the end 2002. Think they got rid of it not long after though.

I think it has been said that Heffernan isn’t the biggest Hird fan which goes back to their days of being teammates and involving $.
