Season 2021 - Melbourne

Well they do have Melksham and Hibberd (and Goodwin)

I believe he’s been signed by our VFL team.

Ben Brown will be a great get for them

I agree re Brown. Wish we made a play for him. Can’t stand Melbourne

THe hype is because of that season where they looked really good. The problem of course is then opposition put tmie into you and expose your flaws. Their midfield has never developed and evovled to counter their weaknesses. Which is why they can look sublime for a quarter here and there.

All about differential. They were 6th for clearance differential last year and 4th for contested possession differential

Year after year, the Dees flatter to deceive. They look great at various times, but fall apart at the business of too many seasons. I disagree about their midfield being one of the stronger units, Gawn and Petracca are all class, and Oliver is above average, but Viney has fallen away and Brayshaw is a yo - yo, up and down. After that they have nothing. The Melky Bar kid continues to be hit and miss. The Weid shows signs of coming good, and turning into the player he was touted to be when he was drafted. Brown couldn’t get a look in last year yet it is a struggle to think of any other Dee forwards, that’s how much the impress; not at all. Their forward line is also a major reason why Petracca has to spend so much time there. The Dees D is their strength, but they will be forced to work overtime this year. No higher than 10th for mine.

They’re pretty good at one thing
But basically nothing else.

If you get sucked in to trying to throw numbers at the clearance to beat them there, they’ll get you. Most sides can break them if they focus on ringing in the clearance and getting Oliver & co to kick.

They’re not terrible, they’re not going to finish bottom, but they’re very much gettable.

So the Suns and Blues and Bombers are top line midfields, too?

Ben Brown needs to go to a specialist to try and resolve issues with his knee

Move over Joe, Ben’s knee now to take injury centre stage. Dees will be disappointed, but buyer beware.

Where are all those people sooking that we didn’t get him?

Clubs that finish 17th, don’t get rid of their premier Key forward for a packet twisties… without a reason.

Yep, that would be me.
Making sense now…

@Finding_Nino do you still think we should have got him instead of 2MP?

Yes because Brown is proven

Proven to be injured again you mean?
