Season 2023 - Port Adelaide

EFA

McKenzie only 2-3 weeks after all that!
Looked a lot more serious.

The AFL won’t, but I’d punish that with a docking of premiership points (plus fines) if it turns out they were intentionally negligent.

Is it true they were fined for the same thing last year? If so, they should face a points or draft pick loss. But we know that won’t happen.

June last year I think. Jonas and Butters collided. Quite a sickening head clash which left both players bloodied. Not even a 20minute concussion protocol rule assessment, and both returned to the field.

I read about an incident with Hamish Hartlett and them being fined, but that was 2016

Port Adelaide’s concussion test.

Aliir can you tell us you last name?

Honestly need to start going down the NRL route and having neutral doctors for this stuff.

If Daicos or Bont copped a hit in the game before the grand final, no way a club doctor would say concussion if it meant them missing out on a spot.

Club doctor doesn’t equal club supporter.

We arrived back in Australia this morning so sitting in the lounge at MEL awaiting our connecting flight home and have been reading some of media out of Adelaide and they are pretty scathing of the club. Ex player Sam Mayes has apparently said that the club forced him to play SANFL whilst suffer the effects of a head knock and that he is still struggling since quitting football and even a rumour that Jones had a car crash on the way home from the game and could have been suffering from delayed concussion

They are broke and are run by the AFL.
Is the AFL going to fine themselves

Brilliant! :clap::clap::clap::sweat_smile:

most of the most shoddy run organisations are the afl run ones, e.g Suns.

we were talking how boring it will be to have the expansion teams - Giants and potentially suns in finals.

They should really have an independent doctor or doctors assess concussion both at the ground and then do follow ups at the club.

Aliir coming back on was dubious, there was a headknock in one of our games recently where the player looked pretty ■■■■■■ (maybe Redman, cant remember) and he just came back on with no test.

Its like everything the AFL does. Lots of media around how far we have come, but then behind the scenes still operate hugely poorly.

Agree. There need to be independent doctors determining who needs, and then undertaking, the HIA.

There also needs to be independent doctors who manage the return to play side of things, too.

Also, I swear I was suggesting something along these lines four or five years ago.

The doctor needs to be sacked immediately imo.

Port should be copping a massive fine
