I have a real problem with the AFL stepping in. The event was a private event. Unless some players themselves were harmed or harassed during the event, non of it should have gotten out.
I’m not sure people remember being in their 20’s and doing stupid things. This would be at the bottom end of stupidity because it was not done in public.
I agree there is a problem with the AFL stepping in, but making fun of victims of rape is not acceptable in any way shape or form. It should be a club thing. Let the club handle it.
It might be just me, but I see a blindingly obvious distinction between Dave Chappelle making satirical jokes about Cosby being rapey, and dressing as Prince Andrew or Jarryd Hayne and ■■■■■■■ a blow up doll at a dress up party?
This is where people get confused. They are mocking the abuser, not the victims. They didn’t dress up as a specific victim, they dressed up as a specific abuser and mocked them.
