Season 2024 - Hawthorn

Pfft…It will be The Langford who will kick a bag 5 goals first up. He’s in ripping shape.

they’ll have no pressure of expectation and will play with attacking freedom that sometimes causes upsets.
we better come out breathing fire.

And can I just add…
FARK MITCHELL.

Naming a tagger as the sub, only to have him tag a player for 10 minutes is the biggest loser move I’ve seen in some time.

Hawks were up and about before the game about ‘Wiz’- they were literally squealing in anticipation- the Wiz flopped.
Gunners and Breust have had it.
Why didn’t they draft Caddy instead of 'Wiz"
It’s beautiful.

Am sure he’ll be a good player for them but by goodness he’s small.

They need to improve a lot to keep out of the bottom 4.
Their midfield have been impotent 2 weeks in a row.

The press reports that Sam Mitchell is a master coach seem to be greatly exaggerated

The pressure is coming for Mitchell. Round 6 they play North.

Sorry, Hawks now 2nd last on the ladder, even with a coach said to be a genius. They have a $150M project to finish, with membership sure to be lagging a bit, they will need to go to both levels of Government, and probably the Bank of AFL looking for “Free Money Hawthorn”

Is Day due back yet?

yep Wiz is tiny.
i was against using first round pick on him.
much prefer Caddy.

I wouldnt write wizz off though. he had 3 shots against us, if he kicks all those its a decent game from a small forward.

Thank ■■■■ they won’t be stealing any more money from Tassie.

Caddy was the perfect transition out of Gunston and Brewster - they stuffed up with ‘Wiz’.

Mitchell said the game has changed and needed good small forwards now

Don’t want no short people
They got little baby legs
And they stand so low
You got to pick 'em up
Just to say hello

And he is right, you do. If Watson had kicked 7.2 instead of 2.7 then people wouldn’t be saying much other than he is doing well.

Watson can play. It’s a tough gig to be a good small forward in a poor team. He’s showing signs he’ll be very good.

What’s the old saying - if you are good enough, you are big enough? I think that’ll apply to Watson.

When the rain came down, Watson suddenly looked like a player. For the first time at Hawthorn IMO.

He was buzzing around, clean at taking the ball in his hands (in fumbly conditions)…he finally looked dangerous
