Season 2024 - North Melbourne

I hope he stays out of jail and never offends again. The victims are paramount. Could care less about Tarryn so long as he doesn’t harm others.

I have certainly considered that possibility.
But I don’t understand how a club like Adelaide or Port can’t pick him up in the mid-season draft on a one year contract, get him away from Melbourne, move him in with a mentor, play him in the magoos for two weeks and, boom…instant finals upgrade.

If it’s a bust, it’s a bust and they’ve really lost nothing.

Not defending the guy At All, just trying to understand the logistics and ramifications.
If he’s suspended for a year, then why not say so?

I dont condone what he did but i hope this is the wake up call he needed to get his life in order and not offened ever again.

would have to apply for an exemption (which he won’t get) to fit the mid season draft criteria, he can’t just be picked up because he got cut

baffles me why some of you think he’ll get picked up again - he’s done

How much do we wanna bet that he re-offends before the season is over??

Any club that picks up a known woman beater who would do so again deserves to fold, burn, and die.

Because he’s a very, very good footballer.

Edit:

I thought this was Exactly what the MSD was for…

How much do you want to bet on women getting abused?

Nothing, personally.

Oh god. Alex trying to be the moral compass…

Hopefully he gets the help and counsling he needs last thing you want is him to harras/threaten women now that he’s got no where to go.

Andy Lovetts life sprialled out of controll when he got sacked

If any club picks him up I would hope every single one of their AFLW players walk out eamassed and that the AFL facilitates them free movement

I mean…okay…
I’m not arguing the moral implications.
I’m arguing the practicalities.

He is the exact kind of guy that could end up killing someone.

I honestly think he is done for good. I just don’t think any club will touch him.

no club will

that behaviour is cultural poison at this point, and north would know that better than most

What I’ve found strange is that yes he has been sacked but no where have I seen it mentioned that he has been delisted. There is a huge difference there as it has ramifications as in Norf having extra list spots, salary cap etc.
I wonder if they have done a negotiated deal where he remains on their list despite North paying him out and tearing up his contract.
Will be interesting to see what happens but the AFL absolutely under their laws prevent someone entering the MSD

It’s like Elijah Taylor from Sydney. Clubs just can’t afford it anymore.

Okay. That’s the answer I was seeking.
The AFL can just deny a player from entering the MSD.
In which case…I guess, being sacked…his contract is just paid out (unless there were contractual clauses he’s broken).

Again, not saying the guy Should be given…any sort of preferential treatment, if being allowed to enter the MSD was read that way.

I’m just confused about what’s going on.
18 weeks…a year…sacked…delisted…no other clubs have access…
Whether any club Should isn’t my question.
It’s whether they can and why/why not, and also what this means for the North Melbourne list.

I would bet that he has been sacked and not delisted in which case he technically remains on Norths list until the first list lodgement date at the end of the season. It would be up to the AFL to then decide if North get extra picks or list exemptions

Oh you betcha they will be compensated.

TT is an enormous sack of ■■■■. Go clean some toilets and leave women alone.

Good riddance.
