I would be happy to trade 2 good - average players to saints for Max King.
Essendon great Matthew Lloyd, who coached King and his twin brother Ben at Haileybury College, told AFL.com.au on Monday that King should pursue rival options.
“I think it’d be a great chat for both St Kilda and Max to have at the end of the year, whether they think it’d be best for him to part company with them,” Lloyd said on AFL.com.au’s Access All Areas.
Every club has won a premiership since Carlton last saluted in 1995, aside from Fremantle, the two expansion clubs – Gold Coast and Greater Western Sydney – and St Kilda. The wait continues for flag No.2.
Really?
We already have excess tall / medium forwards.
2MP, Langford, Caddy and Jones.
That’s ignoring Stringer.
How do you fit those 4 plus Max King? Even if you ignore Jones somehow, it’s still 4 talls, 2 smalls in the forward line. Minimal opportunity to play a resting ruck, limited opportunity for resting midfielders and we really only have the other wing position to play midfielders through.
Unless we move a few of our other tall forwards, I wouldn’t adding to the mix we currently have.
Always said that the issue with 2MP is he isn’t a genuine No1 forward. Doesn’t use his body well and struggles with contested marks. You see him dominating smaller backs.
King would get the No1 defender, Langers and 2MP would get 2 and 3.
Both 2m tall, both similar build, both have one 50 goal season to their name (ironically both in 2022), both have had injury trouble and both are useless more often than not
