The kick off his shin as he streamed out centre directly paid Draper an extra 100k a year.
Not sure that Draper would have kicked it any better though.
It’s their first campaign, they need to bottom out turn over the top end, let the young talent mature and they’ll have another crack 2027/28.
I was thinking the same. O’Brien is very old school: very little skill, very little mobility. The game has moved past these types.
More broadly, from what I watched of the game last night Adelaide were fairly insipid. They looked slow and unskilled, and lacked intensity and composure. Not sure if it was just me, but I also thought Dawson failed to stand up in either of their finals.
That footage of him carefully and methodically guiding the ball drop on to the top of his shin is Farking hilarious.
Literally looked like a kids first day at Auskick.

I agree that they looked slow. Could have been Dawk pace, pressure and slick ball movement made them look slow. ROB looks like he is well past it an was dominated by Meek who is not only an imposing giant of a man, but also mobile and v good in the air.
They need a gun mid.
It’s been clear all year. Losing Rankine made it worse.
Their working class backline talls were also made to look very working class.
The contempt Keane had for Gunston was absolutely ridiculous. Standing ten metres off him and that’s when he bothered to mark him at all.
Surprised Gunston only kicked five.
