■■■■■■■ give it to me

By comparison, this is Carlton’s…

Cripps
Cerra
Hewett
Walsh
Elijah Hollands
Cincotta
Jagga Smith

I haven’t included guys that are exclusive wingmen like Cottrell & Acres, or players that are likely flankers/change wing like O.Hollands, Docherty, Williams.

our improvement or lack of improvement is purely on the senior guys this year. Their form will decide where we will end up on the ladder

Most weeks, the youngsters hold their own. It’s the senior guys who have been around for years that let us down. Too many of them aren’t consistent enough

Parish
Ridley
Wright
Redman
McGrath
Shiel
Guelfi

Those guys, when they are fit-will be selected by Scott. You never really know what you are going to get from those guys week to week

If they continue their career form line, we will finish bottom 4. If they can play consistent footy- we will push for the 8

Scott and his mindset will also play a big part- is he actually invested in doing a proper rebuild, or just papering over the cracks with short term sugar fixes

Might depend a bit on who you’re including in that group.

A good summary of the team so far this year. Although, I’m not as optimistic as you are in your final paragraph. The whole team, not just the backline, make that many mistakes it is so easy to score against. Yes, they are a young side, but every player on the list is or has the potential to be an AFL player. What I’ve seen so far this year is mistake after mistake. Even the youngest player on the list is there because he has demonstrated that he “understands” how AFL is played. Unfortunately, 60% of those running around so far this year, just don’t seem to know how to do the “normal things” expected of them. Being able to kick the ball straight to your teammate. Overuse of handball when a kick would be more beneficial. Not manning up on your opposition player makes it so simple for the opposition to score. I could go on, but you’ll get my drift. It looks to me, the hard yard of a higher level of pre-season for season 2025 has gone missing. So sorry Bombers, but as life long supporter, I’m not impressed by the endeavour of many of the players and that is not just the youngest ones.

If we can beat the swans, we are tracking very similar to last year. Albeit wins have been against lesser opposition.

We haven’t beaten anyone above us on teh ladder

And if we do it’s becuase the team above us had an off day!

Brads good at winning the games were expected to win, even if its winning ugly.
*Sydney are below us, we are a chance.

We could probably beat Saints and Freo on a good day too.

Top 8 looks pretty set, the only good teams outside the 8 are Blues and Swans, but not sure they will make it back in at this stage.
Maybe suns fall out.

Nice to have some consistency, and not losing the easy games.

Noticed some talk in the Review thread about how these narrow wins, and the subsequent W/L of 5 and 3 will impact our Final Ladder position this year.

We may have positioned ourselves for another 11 win season.
Looking at the Draw without emotion or bias, even that will be an achievement.

I’ll give us 2 wins against Richmond, even though I’m sure we’ll make bl**dy hard work of one of those games.

I’ll split St.Kilda and 1 of the Bulldogs games.
This week in particular it’s difficult to know how the Dogs come up after their schedule.

Carlton are better than us, but its all confidence and form related with them.
It’s reasonable to split 1 of our games with them this year.

I’d love to give us the MCG result against Geelong, but I just can’t do it.
I will split the GCS & Giants at Marvel, generously.

That leaves these games which we are rank outsiders…
Lions, Freo, Sydney, GCS & Gee (AWAY)

That gives us 10 wins.
11 if we’re able to jag a win in 1 of the AWAY games listed above.

I’m going with 10 - 13

I like the way our back line is working. Especially when there are no decent oppo small forwards. The run of Mc Grath was massive.
