My Prediction

I predicted this team to finish 11-13 last year and they won the minor premiership. Shopws how little I know as well as how little I care for this team. They are as boring a unit to watch as any finals contender in recent memory but they do look to hqave build a well rounded list that performed very well in the home and away season.

The backline worked last year, Michalanney has continued his development and Keane has become a very good backman. Laird, Worrell and Hinge give them run and attack from behind the ball. They also have Dawson not afraid to drop back when needed.

The midfield will be interesting. Curtin’s improvement last year was really important and he is likely out for the first half of the season, I wonder if they will move Rachele or Keays to have a better look in the guts. Cumming, Rankine and Soligo give them come real quality movement in the middle and they look hard at it when they need to be. Through in Dawson who is probably the best deliverer into forward 50 (maybe alongside Gulden) and they look well rounded.

The forward line is probably their best area. Thilthorpe is genuinely fun to watch. An old school football monster. Fogarty is a good foil for him and then they have good smalls with Rachele apparently in great shape. Keays and Neal-Bullen both coming off very good seasons and then you add Ah-Chee who has been no small part of the last two premierships for the Lions.

The ruck looked so promising a few years ago but is genuinely one of the worst rucks in AFL football and is lucky to have quality mids covering for his lack of skill. It is no surprise they chased Draper as hard as they did. The coach has some runs on the board by way of regular season and would now want to make a dent in finals footy, this season will be interesting for him.

I know they are a good team but there is something about them which I am not willing to commit to just yet. It could be the fact that the games I have watched them play, they have been a bit boring but I don’t know if they have enough genuine match winners come finals footy. I am sure they will make the eight but I don’t see them as a threat again. 3-6 for mine.

They had a crazy 2025. But their finals campaign was disastrous with Rankine’s actions being particularly unforgivable.

I love their forward line and Rachelle to the midfield could add some new dynamics.

They won’t lose many at home and beckon somewhere between 1 to 6th for mine.

Better odds of them missing the 8 than finishing on top again I reckon.

No Daren Burgess now injuries are pilling up?

What did they do to Modra?

I am really surprised they never got a whole lot of Father sons out of Modra. Mids 2010s there should have been lots of 18 year old Modras getting around.

This would be absolutely awful to be going through for Jordan as a brother and of course his wife and family members. Let’s hope they find him alive. Finding his car and phone isn’t usually a great sign though

The older brother of Adelaide Crows captain Jordan Dawson is missing from his Robe home sparking a frantic search amid fears for his safety.

New father Jaryd Dawson was last seen around 2.30pm on Tuesday afternoon in South-East South Australia and has not made contact with family since.

His wife of two years, Jessica Carter Dawson, issued a plea on social media on Wednesday morning, asking anyone with information to reach out.

Jordan’s wife Milly Dawson also shared the post.

“If anyone has seen or heard from Jaryd Dawson since around 2.30pm yesterday please, please let us know,” she wrote, tagging Jaryd’s mother and sister Marian Dawson and Chloe Kane.

The Advertiser understands that Jaryd’s car and phone have been found, according to locals.

Jaryd is the co-founder of Domus Design & Build, a boutique home building company based in Robe.

He tied the knot with his wife in New South Wales in late 2024 before welcoming their first child together, Hudson Ronald, in September.

Jordan was absent from the club’s main training session on Wednesday.

An Adelaide Football Club spokesman said his absence was in relation to personal reasons.

It is understood the Crows playing group was informed about Jaryd’s disappearance on Wednesday morning.

Jaryd, a keen footballer in his own right, is vice-captain of the Robe Roosters reserves side, was called up to the A Grade to play in the 2025 Mid South Eastern Football League grand final.

The match marked his first A Grade appearance since 2018 after overcoming four knee reconstructions, The SE Voice reported.

He made a notable impact in the match, which the Roosters lost by 17-points, kicking a high-quality snap goal in the first quarter.

In 2024, Jaryd won a premiership with the reserves, defeating the Hatherleigh Eagles by 75 points.

As leading goal scorer, he was named among the best on ground and kicked seven goals during the match.

In 2015 he opened Robe Gym Health Fitness which he ran alongside his sister Chloe. After two years, the siblings sold the business to pursue other opportunities.

Police declined to comment on his disappearance.

He’s been found dead :downcast_face_with_sweat:

Jordan will likely need quite a bit of time off. But of course this varies depending on the person.

Insignificant in a life sense but we saw what kind of playing impact this had on a guy like our very own Marc Mercuri.

I hope he is well looked after.
