Season 2026 - Collingwood

Rumour I heard had him comparing notes with Gary Rohan

A relative of mine has known Gary Rohan personally for many years. I asked him about some of the rumours I’d heard about Rohan, he confirmed they were all true, and even told me about some other stuff I’d not heard before. And he’s on our coaching staff, right?

Regarding?

Gary’s second wife had a job at the club he was playing at. Same occupation as the rumour doing the rounds re the Klan coach

I read mcrae has 4 kids to 4 different mums.

Dude seems like filth.

Never liked him

Yep, the whole “goody-goody, we’re winners even when we lose” nice-guy routine isn’t fooling anyone. The guy’s a total phoney.

I believe the part about cheating on his wife, but no wag he gets sacked for that unless it’s with Pendlebury’s missus or someone like that. Players have done worse and had it swept under the carpet

I think she had the baby around 6am morning of GF? Or was that when she went in to labor?

They weren’t rumours, were they?

LOL

As someone who was present at the birth of my three kids. I would always understand why anyone would not choose to attend, for whatever reason.

Probably you were there at the birth of your kid and thought it a wonderous event. Not all see it that way, watching someone you care about in lots of pain and distress and supporting them as much as you can was not a highlight for me.

Interesting, to say the least.

My wife was in a lot of pain (twice. No drugs, no intervention, nothing at all) but says she would gladly do it again and again.

And if your wife is in pain (any pain, not just childbirth) wouldn’t you want to be there to help?

If she cuts her finger, do you just walk off?

I wasn’t there for the birth of our son. Was juggling 3 jobs at the time and it was just not financially feasible to take the time off. Different stage of our lives back then.

I did play cricket on our wedding day though

Sure you want to help, but all you can do is watch. Birth is not a cut finger and Nursing staff kept me clear.

Remember it was a long time ago and it was not as normal as it is now to be there. First child, and labour was 26 hours, we knew no better than just accept what nurses and doctor said. She had an epidural but it wasn’t until they called the specialist who had the baby out in ten minutes.

Wife was totally exhausted, fully distressed, but amazingly after birth and this little demon was put on her chest it all disappeared and she also wanted to do it again.

Anyway, I didn’t enjoy it at all, went back for the next two, to support her, but still a painful experience for all, but we knew what to demand, and drugs were high up the list.

Did you score ?

In the field that day.

I left early to go to my wedding

One of my good mates married the daughter of GP. The father of the bride’s wedding speech had some very insightful words of warning regarding child birth. The words were “make sure you stay up the right end - otherwise you will likely witness something akin to your favourite pub burning down!”

Sage advice indeed.

Yes. That night
