I think they are agreeing the Hawks did exceed the limit. But their counter honestly and earnestly mis-counted, so that’s alright then.

I guess it depends where the line is on this stuff.
I think self-promotion “…president of one of Australia’s biggest sporting clubs” is fine. I think using images of Hawthorn players, coaches or facilities to advertise is not. Having Andrew Russell talk is right on the line - he, as a highly credentialed individual in the high-performance field, is probably being selected to talk on merit and not connections (despite connections existing).
It seems a bit storm in a teacup to me but Gowers may actually have crossed a line.

I reckon most contending sides will cut a template on how to deal with Watson based on the way Sellwood eclipsed him in the second half of the game.
Watson’s ego is clearly as big as the Melbourne metropolitan area and it contributes to his outstanding game. So forcing him into a second guessing mindset will reduce his effectiveness, unless Watson deals with it and takes positives out of it. How many clubs have a Sellwood type available in the defender group? probably the Bombers have 2. Prior and Nguyen.
The Lloyd method will also work.
