That’s quite a loss for Sydney as well…which is (not) a shame.
Yikes. That hits their premiership hopes significantly.
Nice to see Billy Cootee named to debut for the Swans tomorrow night.
Great effort to crack into one of the form sides of the comp.
A bit sad Heeney out again with a sore calf, he has been in. brownlow form.
But with tragedy comes opportunity for Cootee, he’s been playing forward in VFL, think kicked 3 goals last week, would be better than playing Jake Lloyd as a forward.
Hope he goes well.
Papley potentially under injury cloud too:
Watch the AFL look after the Swans like they have looked after the Cats on concussion contract issue.
Nothing surer.
Police probe alleged serious incident at hotel where Sydney Swans staying
The Sydney Swans have been caught in the middle of a major police investigation at the Pullman East Melbourne this morning.
The Sydney Swans have been caught in the middle of a major police investigation at the Pullman East Melbourne this morning.
Officers were swarming through the lobby and accessing hotel rooms amid claims of a serious incident at the Wellington Pde venue.
One source said there had been allegations of a sexual or violent assault, though the Herald Sun has not yet confirmed this.
The Swans were staying at the hotel after beating Essendon at the MCG on Sunday evening.
As many as eight plain clothes and uniform police, carrying clipboards and camera equipment, were seen moving around the venue, with several more guarding the staircase leading to the main entrance.
There were also several marked and unmarked police cars parked outside.
Victoria Police and the Sydney Swans have been contacted for comment.
More to come
The broom is getting a good workout this month
The Tom Morris tweet makes it sound like a Sydney player is the perpetrator. The Jay Clark article makes it seem like someone else did something and Sydney players just happened to be at the same hotel.
If it turns out to be the latter, Mr. Morris might be getting quite the letter from Sydney Swans lawyers at some point today.
Seems Morris has more details because he wouldn’t go all in like that if he didn’t know player/s were involved
Big Dog Tommy wouldn’t go with it unless it’s 100%. Best in the business.
McVeigh bringing the game into disrepute?
Bloods culture. Held up so high.
It’s on the AFL site now. Legit.
Ok, Morris was right.
Football clubs don’t put out statements that vague and that promptly unless poo poo has really hit the fan.
AFL scrambling to release the findings of the Geelong concussion investigation in the next 2 hours so it’s completely forgotten about
Sounds pretty serious. Doubt it is just nose beers
They may have a hard time making this one go away
