First half was a bit flat but thought we totally outplayed them in the second half and were deserved winners. With the Mickey Mouse cup final on the weekend I think they will be relieved that it didn’t go to ET and hopefully fresh and ready to go

Went to an Eredivise game in Arnhem tonight- Vitesse V AZ Alkmaar. AZ got the important away win 0-1 with Mat Ryan putting in a Motm performance in goal for the victors.

Overall a much better performance with a 4-1 win to show for it and really could have been double that. Barring a similar performance to the Liverpool game we should’ve done enough to get through to the quarters. Still a few decent sides remaining though so could be some interesting match ups

That’s something like 5 of their last 7 ties they have lost when it’s gone to ET.
I really thought they were a strong chance to win the EL but they have eyes on a bigger prize
CL next season is in the bag, and they can focus entirely on the league.
This isn’t club football, but with the International break on the Euro qualifiers are on this morning. England currently beating the divers in Naples 2-1. Rice and Kane scoring for the Poms to put them 2 goals ahead at HT but Retegui pulls one back.
Italy look terrible so far
Luke Shaw sent off. Poms down to 10 with 10 mins left. Only just booked for wasting time about 5 mins ago, now picks up a 2nd yellow.
Mattered little In the end as Italy just looked so impotent. Mancini would be absolutely copping it in the media I’d think

True but that doesn’t account for their poor defending either. That was a truly woeful performance from Italy and after his failure to make the WC he would want to turn it around quick smart
