That would be the 1923-24 team. At the end of the 24 season there was a charity game against Footscray who were still in the VFA. We got beaten and there were accusations of players taking bribes to throw the game, even brawling in the changerooms amongst teammates. Players left in the off season and we were no good from then on and right through the 30s. Funnily enough after the last 20yrs I reckon I could cop history repeating 100yrs later if it meant going b2b this year and next.
