Nailed it with Parish - Kicking is a minor issue in the scheme of things for Parish - In saying that, I am surprised Parish isn’t on a list - His inside work is very, very good.
Griswald is 100% correct - Running is Parish’s major weakness - Still think he should be on an AFL list.
If I remember correctly, when Jobe’s kicking came good it was because the coaches identified he actually had a good technique, the problem was mental. Giving him the licence and confidence to use it as a weapon was where the improvement came from.
Very different to someone like Clarke whose problem is technique based. Not sure where Cassidy would fit in between those 2 extremes.
Watson’s kicking improved when he improved his endurance base - This allowed him to win more ball outside the contest which gave him more time to accurately deliver the ball - Add to this having less fatigue when he was about to kick - There is a cause and effect relationship related to Jobe’s kicking.
What about getting him for the two’s??? Any chance?
h’s weakness is running…he rarely carries the ball…and at AFL level I think he will struggle to catch anyone defensively…
I think he relies upon a stoppage to occur, so he can reset…and then yes, his reading in close, and handballing from stoppages, is top notch.
Parishs weakness was he didnt play for Essendon Scout Darren Bewick
