Some Swans have flocked up

Vic Police just need to log onto Blitz and they’ll see first hand evidence that this case has already been prosecuted on Blitz, and the Swans 5 and all the stragglers in the room have been found guilty of heinous crimes.

Further, any Blitzers who suggested we don’t actually know what happened were also found to be of dubious character and on the balance of probabilities also guilty of crimes against humanity.

Yes @stir_fried_ewok - the real victims are those that were disagreed with on an internet forum.

It still hasn’t been determined if there are victims, happy to be corrected if something has been confirmed somewhere.

create the strawman if you need.

we (Blitz) didn’t need to engage in a very clear act of bullying against our own posters for stating the obvious.

Blitzers apparently were labelled dubious characters.

How long until Blakey ANNOUNCE

Bullying?

Really?

yeh there were accusations - and this has been a common theme on Blitz when these scandals break involving big social issues such as racism, homophobia, sexism etc - that unless you are one of the gang raging very loudly (and prematurely) about these terrible acts (we don’t even know what actually occurred) then you are part of the problem, and quite obviously racist, sexist, homophobic etc.

when you get accused of bigotry, lack of respect towards women, racism etc based on questioning what actually took place, that’s online bullying.

whoever can rage the loudest (over a set of circumstances that are mostly unclear) convince themselves they occupy the high moral ground. the reality, given the attacks on other posters, is quite the contrary.

I’ll point out that in this case of the 5 sydney players, no bullying at all was directed towards me. I just observed it directed towards other posters questioning/doubting the facts of the case.

The Pullman 4 all finished in the top 10 of the Binnies b n f.

With Heeney winning it.

Were there just questions and doubts on facts?

There were plenty of black white comments that got called out but I think that’s okay, right?

Things to the effect of ‘if there’s no crime then the players did nothing wrong’ or ‘the women were just trying to get exposure/money’

Both of which are commonly known by people as the social media type response by apologists of misogynistic behaviour.

Maybe it hurt and felt like bullying but maybe it was just being challenged on that, that they didn’t feel comfortable with

Think things might take a different turn here soon. Might be a few defamation cases considered.

There were plenty of emotional, hive-mind comments that got called out but I think that’s okay, right?

Things to the effect of ‘the legal system doesn’t matter, we should just ruin their careers anyway’ or ‘any woman who speaks out must be believed 100% without a single shred of evidence.’

Both of which are commonly known by people as the social media type response by apologists of mob mentality and trial-by-timeline behaviour.

Maybe it hurt and felt like their moral superiority was being threatened, but maybe it was just being challenged on that absolute lack of objective logic, that they didn’t feel comfortable with.

Just read that back to yourself for a bit. In fact, try reading it to someone who knows a woman and see how they respond.

Maybe read it back to yourself, too. Try reading it to someone who understands the difference between basic due process and an attack on women, and see how they respond. It’s entirely possible to care deeply about women’s safety while also calling out toxic mob mentality on the internet. The two aren’t mutually exclusive, even if social media likes to pretend they are.

Toxic mob mentality. Righto.

What you calling it ? … Healthy Mob Mentality ? … Righto

Debate on an internet forum?

I made a similar post to V’s ‘toxic mob mentality’ post. If you go back you’ll see many posters have agreed with this view of the toxic nature of our discussion.

We can do a lot better.

I just think the media and police should not be using the word “probe” for this case. Poor form really.

It’s probably better than saying “they have fingered the culprits” though
