Something seriously wrong with the club (Part 2, March 2022)

Listening to SEN speaking to Ex Olympian Clint Robertson . OMG this guy needs to be brought in as motivational coach . Has worked for Afl and NRL clubs . A winner and proudly ruthless.

Never thought I would see the day when I would be thinking to myself about the worst era’s of individual clubs, ie Melbourne, Fitzroy, Footscray, and comparing those with the current plight of Essendon. But here we are.

The current situation is a disaster.

Tassie Bombers? Northern Territory Bombers? I think the latter has a better ring to it .

I think the Luke Parker incident just shows what the rest of the AFL world think of us at the moment. Soft football club, no heart and no spine.

Almost think we are at a Melbourne level of garbage when they were at their worst. 200 point smacking is just around the corner.

Pauline has nice handwriting. Indicative of a disciplined childhood. Something our players and executive lack.

2-7, 13 games to go. There would legit still be people at the club who think we can go 10-13 and play finals. I think we’re still a few weeks away from really accepting our fate and making changes that should have been made after Rd 1

As I wrote 2-3 years ago when Worsfold was coach, we are in the very real situation of where Melbourne has been the last 50 years.

A club who lacks ambition, but rests on its laurels of being a ā€˜successful club’.

Melbourne was in the exact same position as us when they sacked Norm Smith. They had the most premierships, and a club who believed it was a Devine right that they were successful.

Board members and Executives with vested interests and doing everything to hold onto power.

The next 10, 20, 30 years can go by without a whimper… especially with a Board doing everything to cling to power & rotten culture which can’t be removed.

This extended period of crappitude is causing serious long term damage.

How many here who’s kids are over 10 (little ones will go anywhere they get to eat junkfood and a badge) want to go to watch them.

My boys have no intrest. None.

If we think its bad now, if we dont get our improvement rollerskates on soon, in ten years time we are heading to obscurity.

I’m so shocked that the CEO or Chairman haven’t been out to explain where the club and team is up to …….the silence from the leadership team is equal to the complete and utter rubbish we are dishing out on the field ……FFS stand up Xav and Brasher and be counted ….don’t ghost the supporters by releasing statements saying there will be no review

it’s a bit like Luke Parker demonstrating what he thought of Shiel isn’t it?

It’s crystal clear what Campbell, Brasher and the Essendon board think of members and supporters.

It’s self preservation mode.

Stay quiet while the team is performing poorly, so they don’t cop the wrath of the supporters…… and jeopardise their power at the club.

I can’t wait for that old bag of bones Brasher to announce the external review.

IT’S HAPPENING YOU USELESS FARKS!!!

Why have we not come out and announced a full scale review? The back patting that has gone on at our club for too long must stop.

I’ll be even more shocked than I am now if a full external review is not announced by the time we play the Saints

We are just a weak club. Captains more worried about smiling, rather than telling the boys to stand up for your teammates that are getting mocked and knocked in the Fkn head by the opposition. Stand up for yourselves you absolute donkeys. You can lose and still be respected for bringing effort. Don’t give up at the earliest signs of pressure every Fkn time.

I’d love to see a supporter group go to training this week and just launch into the players like they do overseas in other sports. These players deserve all criticism that comes their way

Alright here’s an alternative view.

Clearly last year Rutten had us going pretty well for where we were at.

X does not have an impact on how the players play. Nor Brasher.

All our best players are our youngest. Our worst are our oldest. The longer you are at EFC, the worse you get. I really don’t think the list is that bad.

I have heard from a good source that Deledio leaving was a big turning point for Richmond, culturally.

Do we have a Deledio? How many? Why do we always seem to have a list of guys not willing to do the hard work? Was anyone flying the flag for Merrett when he was flattened? Why not? What impact does Shiel being our highest paid player and not putting the hard work in have on the rest of our players?

I think there is something wrong with the playing group culture.

I don’t get the Deledio leaving being their turning point.

Will admit though that I don’t know anything re their culture when he was playing.

Changes after Carlton game flogging

Imminent buckle down, the coterie group will have the red wine painting the MCG to hear the FC supporters going viral at a 60 point thumping

Mate right now I’d even settle for the players sitting through the Wizard of Oz, they actually cover over the clubs deficiencies, heart, brains & courage.

heppell or shiel tak your pick
