It all comes back to accountability. The defining characteristic of the culture at Essendon (from the complete outside) appears to be a lack of accountability. Who gives two fartz about standards if there’s no outcome for not meeting them.

■■■■■■■ disgraceful that we have this whole ethos of development etc etc etc and then fail to make any time for the VFL program.
No point employing all of these development coaches if we have an embarrassment of a VFL team for them to play in. Everything this club does is rubbish.

It’s a clear oversight but absolutely nothing shocks me about this club anymore. Yet Another sham review process setting out to achieve a carefully curated outcome and avoid uncomfortable truths.

Is it even worth drafting kids anymore? No proper vfl program to develop them, stepping into a culture that doesnt know what success looks like, poor medical management means they are unlikely to even get on the park? Leaders that accept losing as long as they play the way they want?
Literally the place needs to be blown up and start again, honestly feels like we are at rock bottom

What is even the fkn point of watching anymore if we dont even have the most basic things like a VFL program. I probably will tune out after anzac day and find something else to do with my time. Club doesnt deserve our support

VFL used to be the saving grace when our afl team was ■■■■. Loved watching them. Big stuz kicking the winner, hind going for his big runs.

This was the side that played in the 2019 VFL prelim against Williamstown. Side was much better than what’s been rolling out lately, but very few of these names came on despite a winning culture.

It’s the question I keep pondering. We could draft the most talented but they’d just flounder / get injured.
I look at Cox development as exhibit A. How has Essendon’s program helped develop his game? I think his tracking is an indictment on the clubs program.
