Not nearly enough. Mid table finishes have not been enough to move forward. And bad recruiting compounds the issue.
The club doesent perform, and the supporters are petrified of being sh_t. And the club is petrified of the supporters because they dont want to lose their membership. Push the team to win after the season has already been tanked.
2018 was the worst one for me. Brought in 3x big name recruits. First half we were one of the worst teams in the comp. The club starts receiving massive amounts of pressure from the media and the supporters. Second half, we start winning unnecessary games and finish a game out of the 8. Same thing happens to this day.
There’s zero reason to believe Truck would’ve pushed for a rebuild any earlier than this and with the fraud still firmly ingrained it would have been another failed build based on vanilla midgets and project players.
Rutten was a bad appointment from the start. No genuine interview process. Was handed the job by Xavier Campbell. A good young assistant coach that wasnt ready for the big seat. For a young coach like that, you give him all the support he needs, and at least 3-4 years for him to prove his worth. We gave him a crumby succession plan with a coach who was already emotionally checked out, and a list full of spuds and sooks. This club ate him alive…
The management, player development and standards of this club has been woeful for far too long.
It’s amazing to see how far this club has fallen in 25 years. I regret renewing my membership this year. This club has given its supporters nothing but false dawns and false promises for over 20 years.
We have kicked the can down the road for 20 years and now it’s time to pay the price.
I’m still not convinced we are going down the full rebuild route so let’s wait and see what happens at seasons end as that will tell us plenty
