Got blasted a week or so ago for suggesting afl w coaches should be in the mix for menâs job then was loved when she said Hird should be coach.
One of the few to call out the players and overall her takes are pretty good

thatâs why i laugh when the club and people say we need essendon people to fix essendon.
I thought Hird would be the same, but solly is prime example. Granted heâs in a hard situation as he probably isnât going to be the head coach beyond this year, but he could still make an example of players who arenât doing what He now wants them to do, the same as they wouldnât or couldnât under scott. But nope same â â â â different coach, so what are the chances a different essendon person, would do any better ?
some of us have said thereâs too many outside influences pulling the club in different directiosn cos they have vested interests in certain players they like and support to continue to be played, and they wonât allow any coach not to drop them, how is an essendon person meant to break that cycle, when they were moulded in it and benefited from it also ? If hird gets the job, how is he supposed to say no to coteries, when coteries are the one who push for his re instatement.
if anything an essendon person is just going to entrench the club further into the shitshow it currently is.

because it seems to me, the club has just put its hands upâŚ. And said âletâs try to keep the senior blokes happy so they stayâ.
And this is the f*cking problem with this club. Somebody needs to make some tough callsâŚ.. but theyâre all sitting on their hands, hoping that a new coach can pull a rabbit out of a hat.

Wouldnât surprise me at all
The only other thing I can think of is they are playing a lot of these guys because we are trying to increase their trade value.
Doesnât help that there is no communication from the club as to what they are trying to achieve in these last few rounds
I feel truly sorry for Dean Solomon.
Zero doubt heâs a cracking bloke. I think thereâs a huge difference between being named interim coach for 4 weeks and doing it for 12.
Another in a long line of people with a certain level of ability/competence whoâs been shoved into a â â â â situation and asked/expected to perform miracles.

You can put it together
Every coach whoâs even started to rebuild has been sacked within 15-20 weeks.
What message does that send to the senior coach? Itâs all about the short term.
