Something seriously wrong with the club (Part 4, August 2024)

Iā€™m approaching this year like Iā€™m panning for gold. Weā€™re gonna have to get rid of all the mud and itā€™ll take plenty of time. Hopefully thereā€™s some specks and a couple of nuggets floating around. At least weā€™re not farming the Dodoro Swamp anymore. Itā€™s Rosa River time.

Well put and agreed

The way gold is performing (closed at $A 4191.00 on Friday), if the likes of Kako, AD-W, Gerreyn, Nguyen end up nuggets, and with a decent hedge of 2 first rounders next year, weā€™ll be rich.

Better call Fred and Juan.

Thatā€™s what I thoughtā€¦. The doom anbd gloomers are getting boring I reckon.

Glass half full, positive vibes. Onwards and upwards for me. Hopefully the current regime finally succeed. Itā€™s the first time in decades weā€™ve seen system and transformational change off field. 20 list changes in two years with another 8-10 likely end of 2025.

One, maybe two more difficult years ahead and then itā€™s hopefully an upward trajectory with genuine signs of hope.

Love how dmapes throws the toit. But has cried about ticketing and member value all ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  year

Yep. Not saying youā€™re wrong.

However, some are just negative pessimists full stop, footy just being another subject to be negative about.

Some of my mates are like this, even in the 2000 theyā€™d find reasons to be pessimistic or negative. Itā€™s just their personality default type. People are naturally either negative, glass half empty types or the opposite. Thatā€™s life I guess.

Another 8-10 ? name 8

Anyone catch the soloman appointment article from the EFC website?

He spoke about being in debt to the club, well mate youā€™re not off to a good start not being present at the AGM.

Could probably guess all his answers to the questions asked.

ā€œI appreciate the question, but since Iā€™ve recently joined the board, Iā€™m still getting up to speed on the details of past decisions and outcomes. My focus right now is on understanding the clubā€™s current position and working with the team to plan for the future. Iā€™ll ensure we take lessons from the past into account to move forward effectively.ā€

One would hope itā€™s not Rosa River Virus that infects the club.

8 likely, 10 a stretch.
Goldy, Shiel (regrettable), Laverde, Setters, ADJ, Menzie, Cox, Jones and Hobbs on shaky ground.
Two first rounders next year, maybe more and Scott has a glass half full.

Letā€™s hope these nuggets being mentioned are nothing like the nuggets a toddler drops when the nappy comes off

Menzie
Hobbs
Goldy
Lual
Davey
Laverde
Sheil
Cox or Reid (50% chance one of them will be delisted due to form or injury)

Lual, Guelfi? Could be 10

Youā€™ve probably been saying this every year since you joined in 2004.

Some of us on here are actually young enough where we either didnā€™t exist the last time we had success, or were too young to have any form of recollection about it.

So unfortunately for many of us, we donā€™t get to live vicariously through the successes of decades gone, and our entire Essendon experience has been failures, a drug saga, and mediocrity.

So how dare we doom and gloom.

The '70s were glorious compared to what we have had to put up with over the last decade.
