Iā€™m approaching this year like Iā€™m panning for gold. Weā€™re gonna have to get rid of all the mud and itā€™ll take plenty of time. Hopefully thereā€™s some specks and a couple of nuggets floating around. At least weā€™re not farming the Dodoro Swamp anymore. Itā€™s Rosa River time.

Well put and agreed

The way gold is performing (closed at $A 4191.00 on Friday), if the likes of Kako, AD-W, Gerreyn, Nguyen end up nuggets, and with a decent hedge of 2 first rounders next year, weā€™ll be rich.

Thatā€™s what I thoughtā€¦. The doom anbd gloomers are getting boring I reckon.

Glass half full, positive vibes. Onwards and upwards for me. Hopefully the current regime finally succeed. Itā€™s the first time in decades weā€™ve seen system and transformational change off field. 20 list changes in two years with another 8-10 likely end of 2025.

One, maybe two more difficult years ahead and then itā€™s hopefully an upward trajectory with genuine signs of hope.

Yep. Not saying youā€™re wrong.

However, some are just negative pessimists full stop, footy just being another subject to be negative about.

Some of my mates are like this, even in the 2000 theyā€™d find reasons to be pessimistic or negative. Itā€™s just their personality default type. People are naturally either negative, glass half empty types or the opposite. Thatā€™s life I guess.

Anyone catch the soloman appointment article from the EFC website?

He spoke about being in debt to the club, well mate youā€™re not off to a good start not being present at the AGM.

Could probably guess all his answers to the questions asked.

Goldy, Shiel (regrettable), Laverde, Setters, ADJ, Menzie, Cox, Jones and Hobbs on shaky ground.
Two first rounders next year, maybe more and Scott has a glass half full.

Youā€™ve probably been saying this every year since you joined in 2004.

Some of us on here are actually young enough where we either didnā€™t exist the last time we had success, or were too young to have any form of recollection about it.

So unfortunately for many of us, we donā€™t get to live vicariously through the successes of decades gone, and our entire Essendon experience has been failures, a drug saga, and mediocrity.

So how dare we doom and gloom.
