Very very rubbish
Everything but “Rhythm of my heart” by Stewart is hot trash.
Maggie May is a stone cold classic.
Overall he’s not my cup of tea, but that one is all time.
Can’t disagree with that tbh.
I think old Rod jumped the shark with Sailing, when he was still young Rod.
Completely agree. Some say Elvis died when he went to Vegas, and you could say the same about Rod Stewart.
Not really relevant to this thread, but it’s one place I have absolutely zero desire to go to. Seems trashy and fake as ■■■■, I can find that here if I want it.
it’s worth going to visit the Bellagio and experience the fountain show, but that’s about it! although there were lots of free drinks on offer too
I think a lot of people go just to see whether it really is as they imagine it to be. I’ve met a couple of people who have lived there and they liked it a lot.
I’ve been a few times and I love it. World class food and bars. Pretty much something for everyone. I’d really love to see the Raiders play in the new stadium there. It looks amazing.
Vegas was good for Cirque Du Soleil shows and as a starting point to go out to The Grand Canyon and Monument Valley.
Apart from that, I can not think of one reason to go (back) there.
Yep not relevant to this thread, but anyway.
I had always felt like you zero desire to go. But my hubby wanted to go so we went at the end of our Europe trip.
Hated it at first but once I got used to the idea that it’s a place that’s meant to be trashy and fake and to leave the real world behind, I started to enjoy it. The Strip yep like @Koala says, free drinks and the Bellagio experience was good. We went to Downtown Vegas (Fremont Street, the original Vegas prior to the Strip) was fantastic. Would go there again.
Went there once. Three of us had bought a bomb Cadillac to drive cross country and picked up two friends who joined us briefly for the canyon and Vegas. Spent 3 days there. I gambled I reckon 5 bucks total. We got kicked out of one casino cos my mate was writing down roulette numbers - the croupier said it was ok but the camera observers and bouncers disagreed! Food and drinks cost nothing because they all wanted you to stay and gamble. Very economical if you didn’t actually gamble.
Oh and we drove in at night and someone had brought an elvis tape with viva Las Vegas which we put on as we drove in - all very contrived and corny but absolutely worth it!
It’s obscene but def worth a look. Consider yourself a Louis Theroux on a fact finding mission if it makes you feel better.
Watched a great film (IMO) called American Animals last night. A docu-drama that used some tricks I’ve never seen in a movie before.
Anyway this was one of the songs on it - beautifully placed.
