Just finished listening to it…I see what you mean by needing to listen a few times…it didn’t “grab” me by any means…but I also didn’t dislike it.
Yeah, it was probably about half a dozen runs through before the hooks started sticking, and I started recognising the repeated motifs sprinkled throughout (being a concept album and all)…
I’ve been listening to Stuckfish today…another English Prog band I found from Facebook.
They’ve released four albums so far…The Watcher (2nd album) and Days of Innocence (3rd album) have gone straight to the playlist…currently listening to IV (their 4th album 
).

Wow haven’t heard these for 15 years. I remember having this CD in the car and spilling something into the bag of cds and ruining most of them. Never replaced it.
After seeing The Crystal Set supporting Ups & Downs on the weekend, I remember now what a lovely, jangly track this was… legitimately had not heard it in years before the weekend. Sounded great live (with the band including alumni of Died Pretty and The Reels).
