Just like the saying “in a 2 horse race, always back the one called self interest”. The AFL, Assada, corrupt CAS and both Govts are clearly doing that.
Or to put it another way, “the establishment will always back the establishment”.

up yet . Deadline for questions is 10 March, with replies due by 21 April.
Interesting that McDevitt spoke about the difference between Sports Law and Criminal Law - Yet you have a situation where the EFC 34 were found guilty of taking TB4, but yet Dank the architect of the program has been found not guilty of administering TB4 to the EFC 34.
Think McDevitt needs to explain Sports Law.
This comes up quite a lot.
Both EFC players and Dank were found not guilty re TB4 by the AFL tribunal. WADA appealed players decision but did not appeal Danks because he’s already been given a life ban. There was no point.
Fitzpatrick. Poor corporate governance led to a loss of $200m while he was chair. The farken irony…
I think Given we are getting no where, it might be time to try the Pauline Hanson /jacqui Lambie route.
They are both passionate australians not aligned to libs/labs and could generate good publicity for themselves infighting for aussie athletes suspended by foreign body over indigenous game.
Well I, for one, am relieved Boot isn’t working for him.
Getting those two on board would not help credibility in eyes of the wider public.
Fist post on new Blitz. Fark Carlton!
Have there been any updates on how Hirdy is doing?
Disappointing Hunt has determined no interest. Labor’s Kitching is interested but may not get the numbers within her party. Despite Sen Farrell claiming Labor doesn’t support an inquiry, there has been no such party room decision -yet. There is significant cross bench support especially through the Greens but they only have power if either of the two biggies want to deal needing their votes for something else. We need public lobbying to demonstrate to Libs/Lab that ASADA doesn’t pass the pub test.
Yes, that’s what we need; more cranks arguing the case for us. That’ll help get everybody else on side for sure.
Let us see the content of the foreshadowed Questions on Notice ( due 10 March) and answers ( due 21 April) . They might provide some momentum.
I notice that there is also a FOI request to Health on Hunt’s statement, but would expect the standard obfuscation
There is also the AFL internal review, promised before the start of the season ( which journalists will be watching) but as Patrick Smith said, lying is a second language to the AFL.
There are too many known unknowns connected to the damage wrought by ASADA / AFL/ WADA for this issue not to be pursued. They need to be held accountable for their actions.
yes but his life ban had nothing to do with Essendon players !!! so there is a point
They just need to be accountable …full stop!!
And if I’m not mistaken, his life ban was with the AFL only, not all WADA/ASADA sports.
All sports signing on to the WADA Code would ban him as part of their WADA obligations, but there are some big federations out there which have not signed on to the WADA Code, not least the PGA, some US and English sports.
The fact is WADA listed a notice of appeal against Dank of all the charges in which the AFL Anti-Doping Tribunal found Dank not guilty - WADA parked the appeal until the end of the case against CAS - I posted at the time that WADA would never re-visit the appeal, because if it ever want to CAS ,and then in the case of a ‘fluke decision’ which still found Dank not guilty of administering TB4 to players, it would be embarrassing for WADA - Players guilty of being administered TB4, while the key architect and provider of the program is not guilty.
This is one facet of the case which has never been pursued with enough vigor.
Yes, that’s right and indeed as the AFL Tribunal found him not guilty of giving the players TB4 and WADA didn’t appeal, as it stands the players are guilty of taking TB4 administered by Dank but Dank is not guilty of administeringTB4 to the players.
And McDevittt defends this inconsistent process.
