In accordance with the Australian National Anti-doping Policy 2021, Sydney Kings’ player Xavier Cooks was issued with a one-month period of ineligibility by Basketball Australia, which concluded on July 4, 2026.
This was issued as a result of an in-competition doping control test, and the metabolite of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) was detected.
Cooks has apologised to the club and his teammates, and has been and will continue to be provided with appropriate wellbeing and educational support through this process.
