Does anyone know whether you can give your ticket to someone else for the first day and then use it the next? Is there an arm band system etc?

Not sure but I doubt they would notice. They wouldn’t know.

No public transport to Soundwave In Melbourne. That’ll make it interesting to get out of there.

That would be because it’s all too hard to supply public transport for more than 24 hours in a row (White Night being the night before). Pretty pissweak.

I am obliged to advise Soundwavers that most of the (Moonee Valley) streets in the immediate area have a ‘Permit Zone during major events’ restriction on them, and you will get nabbed if you ignore it.

Yup. Plenty of old locals make $100 a day offering two parking spots on their lawn

Can’t wait until Friday when I fly over with my mate.

Incubus, Tonight Alive, Fall Out Boy, Escape The Fate and Falling In Reverse!

I have been waiting for this for ages!

Pretty disappointed that Rival Sons have pulled out. But on the plus side, the schedule clash dilemma between Rival Sons and Steel Panther has been resolved.

Yeah, parking is going to be a real issue.

What’s the fine for parking in a permit zone?

There’s like this huge car park next door at Fremington racecourse… I guess that would be too obvious.

(they used to open it for BDO)

I’ve driven a few times to soundwave, and it’s a farkin nightmare anyway, let alone with this. it will be messy.

i never once left a festival in any state that could be , under law, be deemed safe for driving.

It’s a good point I guess, if you want to get all technical and ‘legal’ about what is and isn’t safe to drive.

I’ve never drunk much at big festivals though. Lining up for hours to pay for overpriced cougar cans with tokens that I’d already lined up for, just so I can drink them in a caged-off area with terrible sight lines to the stage, has never been my thing.

It’s being used by Cirque du Soleil.

Ah…
Limited public transport for such a big public event…
Gotta love Melbourne…

Should just go ahead and build more roads…

closed off drinking areas were never known to exist ‘back in the day’. Never saw them once at BDO’s, Livid’s or Alternate Nations, and I only saw them twice at Soundwave and they weren’t there last year or this year up here.

agree on over-priced drinks, hence the plastic water bottle bag. $4 at your local disposals store.

Ooh I dunno, I reckon they used to restrict drinking at the BDO to the grandstand, even say 10 years ago? (I remember watching Metallica from behind a fence in the grandstand, because all my mates wanted to drink.)

I thought it had something to do with whether an event is ‘all ages’ or not.

But even still, there is no toilet in the mosh, so drinking is a hiderence to moshing regardless of where the bar is.

I haven’t been to soundwave since the system / slipknot year, and the fenced off area was in full annoying force that year.

If they have got rid of it… Good.

Ah cheers, I suppose I probably should have checked that before commenting. Although, they haven’t used it in previous years when Fremington was vacant

Going to be as hot as balls too on the weekend.

We picked Melbourne first of all because it is our favourite place in Aus but also because the weather is far more favourable for us than QLD and now it is going to be stinking hot.

Just can’t win. Hate the heat.

Yeah but we’ll most likely get the rain up here, meaning it’ll be hot, sticky and muddy. On the slipknot/system year they didn’t want to let me back in the hotel after as I was convered in mud. They thought I was homeless.

I heard Adelaide is best city for SW.
