I didn’t mind Audioslave. But never to the point where I had to see them live. Plus they only had two albums so they hardly had ‘longevity’. Not a fan of Chris Cornell’s solo stuff either.
I never really associated them with RATM either.
I probably like more RATM songs than I do Audioslave though. Killing In The Name is one of my favourite all time tracks.
I like(d) Audioslave, they had some really great tracks, but I probably prefer their more ballady stuff (Like a Stone/I am the Highway etc) which are more Cornell than Audioslave, in fact I prefer those tracks when he performs them accoustically, so talke from that what you will.
I’ve seen Soungarden several times throughout the last 20 years.
From way back to 93 or 94 to their latest effort at Festival Hall.
Their set at Soundwave was the worst I’ve seen. They were hot and couldn’t be bothered.
They looked bored.
The Tuesday night gig was a different effort altogether and I rate it third behind the original tour way back in 93 or 94 when they played Festival Hall (in 40 degrees) and the comeback gig at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl where they had something to prove.
But in saying that it’s been close to 20 years since Ive seen FNM and ■■■■ me. They blew my ■■■■■■■ head off.
They were amazing.
I don’t usually buy new albums from old bands but this album is a must buy.
New albums from old bands is just about the only kind I buy now…

I go old albums from new bands.
You know, hear a good band, quickly go back and find their first EP or soundcloud demo, then claim that I was ‘into them from the beginning.’
