But we actually started well just didn’t capitalise. Mind you so did Hawthorn - scored the first 3 and only two more for the whole match. Felt like the typical interstate game we used to play going back to Sheedy’s days.

Last time Center clearances is where we smashed them early although they heart us in general clearances.
Happened with the other games too.
Freo started well against the Tigers.
Lions started well with Hawks.
Cats started well with Port.
Suns started well with Blues.
Hawks started well with the Suns.

draper’s impact at the centre bounce has less to do with taps to advantage and more to do with his impact at ground level IMO. He has the happy knack of forcing disputed balls through congestion to our advantage.
we had enough taps to advantage on Saturday but did precious little with them. don’t know what the final tap to advantage stats were but we did have more taps overall.
the thing to look at this week will be adjusting our set ups so we don’t let them walk out the front so easy.

I always had the feeling that we would win one of the Freo/Port games.
Honestly assumed Freo was the most likely but who knows.
We’d want to run through a few things this week.
This was really one of the first week that we had pressure for spots. Can understand why there may have been some errors in team balance. Hope we’ve learned from it.

And imho had Ridley stayed on the ground we woulda got em in Adelaide.

If I’ve “put a target” on my back for gloomers on an online forum with nothing better to do with their lives than target people for trying to offer an alternative glass half full opinion, then so be it. I can live with that - win or lose.

fair enough.
i guess the gloomers would be thinking the same thing about people who have to take pot shots at them to validate their original glass half full opinion, but each to their own I guess.
I do agree with you though, apart from the obvious bye related stuff, they will most likely roll port just cos.
but i guess some would say i would only have that opinion after about 10 pm on saturday, go figure.

Nobody needs gloomers to remind them of when things are rubbish. It’s ‘kind of funny’ that they think they’re providing some sort of service.

Menzie to start on the ground, not as a sub, he is better than that. Weed out, Voss in. They would be the only changes l would make.
