Scott said the same about us. We were aware of the results for teams turning off the bye and tried to prepare for it.
It just didn’t work.
Is it the equivalent of playing the match and one team cools down, and the other keeps going? And then the team that’s cooled down needs to come back and play?
I’d say it’s just a coincidence more than anything.
Last year after the bye:-
St Kilda lost to Brisbane at Gabba
Giants flogged North at Marvel
West Coast lost to Geelong
Pies beat Giants
Bulldogs beat Giants
Hawks lost to Bulldogs
North got flogged by Adelaide
Dockers lost to Blues at Marvel
And that was already playing taller than most other sides would. Doesn’t make a lot of sense to be wanting to improve our fwd half pressure but barely playing any pressure options.
Port coming off the bye, and they’ve lost 4 of their last 5 games at the MCG. Maybe its also time to be a bit daring with selection, the next month is the key to finals and whether we are any chance at doing something meaningful with them, better to be bold and have a chance at a memorable season than staying steady and letting the season play out around us.
Massimo, Hind, Baldwin, Voss, Tippa, Davey, Wanganeen; some of those guys need to start coming into the team. Cox and Tsatas might just need a chance at AFL level to see what we get rather than being locked into the VFL all season.
Played Sydney three times since 2019 at the G, with a 2-1 record. Played Brisbane in 2019, 2009 and also Sydney in 2004 and that’s it for the century! So this is just our 7th match in the last 23 years at the G against an interstate side, with a 4-1-1 record.
At the end of the day if P…Voss doesn’t get a game this week after his performance yesterday and the 1 bloke keeping him out of the team didn’t kick a goal for the 4th week in a row.
Then he might aswell pack. His bag and go somewhere else and when he comes out and kicks 7 against us( ala crameri at the dogs style) we will all sit back and go wtf bdb.
