Star Wars,Rise of Skywalker FULL SPOILERS!

I must say I did enjoy it, but…

Was quite a lot of WTF moments.

The milk thing? WTF, just gonna sit here and let you squeeze some milk

Millennium falcon destroys all the TIE fighters, and then…just…bails…and then comes back to pick everyone up?

The imperial feet can’t catch up to one or two rebel cruisers? Ok, then why didn’t the send out some TIE fighters/Bombers? Tractor beam. Anyone?

Rose story was rubbish

Casino bit, and horse racing bit was rubbish.

Was too long.

That last scene with the kid/chimney sweep who looked like he has the force…

I did love the final scene with Luke though.

better pilot than luke. and ANNI

I should also add I could have done without the civics lesson on war profiteering. I already saw that Nic Cage movie

disney should make an animated version of that movie.

enjoyable.

but its a bit damn PC though isnt it? all the old female commanders, all the young men put in their place. skywalker all remorseful for his hubris.

typical hollywood brainwashing bullshit.

but yeah otherwise surprisingly good. probably felt a bit drawn out with essentially one 2 hour odd battlescene.

i enjoyed benecio del toro’s role.

Since this movie seems to be a protected species and not allowed in the regular movie review thread, I’ve moved my comments to here.

Just saw The Last Jedi.

sigh

The first 20mins are as if you got a bunch of 15 year olds together, gave them a few million dollars, and said "make me a film’.
It did get better, but is really frustrating how such an enormous franchise and history, such a huge budget and expectations, and still the kind of ridiculous dialogue and sequences that an amateur would make. Farkinell it annoys the ■■■■ outta me.
You’re leading a group of people down a one-way tunnel. You stop, turn around and say “this way!”. Really? I mean - all that farking experience and you can’t write in something like “…I think I smell fresh air…” instead of “come on, this way!” Which farkin other way was there to go ffs??? Just a random example of many such annoying parts.

Anyway - it was better than the last pos they put out.

6.5/10

Roast Porg saved this movie.

And who’s designing all these Imperial ships? The Dreadnaught had the BIGGEST exposed weak spot in the Galaxy. After the debacle of Death Star 1 & 2, AT/ATs and Star Killer base, they came up with this.

I saw the movie last night. There are some interesting views here and I can see where some of the criticism comes from. I’m not sure if ready to jump on that bandwagon though as these are my favourite movies.

What I did like was they interaction between Leia and Poe and the fact that Leia used the force, albeit in strange circumstances.

The movie was different and liked it’s concept and story line.

Where it leaves the trilogy is interesting. I hope Kylo finds a backbone and gets some resolve in the last movie cause the First Order lack leadership and I don’t ever remember that being the case in any Star Wars movies ever before.

Something I only just thought of. How did the bombs fall on the dreadnaught? It’s space.

Watched the movie a 2nd time at IMAX and i have changed my thoughts about n a few matters. Liked it more and started to see what Rian was intending… especially around Rey’s parents and Luke ending. No doubt the fin and rose story went way too long still but with the very last shot of the film they had to keep it in. Last shot to me was link to reys parents reveal. Poor farm boy takes a broom by using the force. The ending was a theme that their was no one in the galaxy willing to help the resistance but ending suggested a new younger generation of oppressed and common background folk were heeding the call. I still get the sense Rian Johnson was not overly a fan of Force Awakens storyline theme and just went his own way so its now kinda weirdd JJ Is doing episode 9. Does he finish his vision he had when he did 7 or conpletes Rian’s vision?

I’ve heard this a few times. I think there is absolutely no chance that Disney would let a director ditch the triology script, and do their own thing. Kathleen Kennedy would have him sacked before he even knew it was coming. You also have to remember that J.J. Abrams is the executive producer on the Last Jedi. He’s not just sitting at home waiting to see what Rhian Johnson has delived before he goes to do episode 9. He was there overseeing this whole movie.

Man there is some massive over analyzing in this thread, I must have watched a different movie cos I don’t remember half of what is being mentioned. Might have to go see it again.

It was ok I thought.

Some massive plot holes and ■■■■■■ script writing, e.g. four star destroyers and a dreadnought show up with the element of surprise and the rebels still manage to both destroy the largest ship and get away? E.g.2 rebels surrounded by a whole army including phasma that gets taken out by an explosion and a droid in a walker.

Some awesome action

Some good nostalgia

Some bad nostalgia

WTF was the leia scene where she turns into some sort of floating Air Jordan like deity?

Loved the big cannon, that scene was epic

Hated all the BB8 saves the day ■■■■

Magnetic?
15 year olds…

Come on. It’s Star Wars space. Who cares

Correct answer.

I love nitpicking a movie to death but I’m on the other side in this thread (for once). Movie was fine overall. It’s taking internet overreactions to a new level tho.

The thing about Star Wars fans, is they are incredibly invested in scenarios and wanting specific things incorporated into the story line. Thats the issue that always happens with cult movies, the emotional investment by fans is soo incredibly high, a let-down is almost certain.

In a football scenario you just need to look at the dissapointment at a large amount of people in this forum after every draft. Myself included. Things don’t happen that you were wanting. So you complain and rant about it.

In time you come to accept it.

But do we all agree…Luke taking 1000+ blast from the imperial landing force…then just dusting himself off, was pretty epic?

Movie was ‘fine’ overall pretty much sums it up though, doesn’t it.
