I loved seeing proper creatures and characters when they went into that bar, not just cgi galore. Also seeing them run away from real explosions was cool.

It’s interesting how some people feel like they own the movie and get very aggressive if confronted with anything less than a glowing review. There is some ISIS level revenge rhetoric being expressed out there. Remember kids (and grown-ups who should know better) It’s a movie, not a lifestyle.

Yeah but for all we knew (pre-prequels) was Vader was pure dark side forever. Worst of the worst. I like the idea of watching someone battling that from the beginning.

Isn’t it great that just for a fleeting moment, sitting in a cinema with all of life’s challenges and responsibilities, you can feel like a kid again !

Yep, I reckon Ivan has explained his point of view very clearly, and to a degree I can understand where he’s coming from. No need for the hating. He was hoping for a bit more, where as most of us were happy it was better than suck and were therefore very satisfied. Some loved it, some thought “meh”. Either way - Star Wars is back, so fark yeah!
Also loved when Kylo Ren was chucking a massive tantrum with his saber and the stormtroopers hear it and are just like “nope” and walk the other way. That’s how you do humor in these movies. The smart-arsey was back. Not ■■■■■■■ Jar Jar accidentally killing droids by falling over etc or electrocuting his tongue so he can’t tell anyone his hand is stuck in an engine…

Huge Star Wars fan but left a bit disappointed.
Ren has been trained to use the dark side (the quick and easy path) and judging by his knowledge of the force and his age, you’d think he’d have at least 10 years training under his belt…
…So how the f**k did Finn pretty much hold his own in a lightsaber duel and how did Rey defeat him with no jedi/force training whatsoever?
Granted Rey is strong with the force and Ren was wounded but still, he should have dispatched with them both easily. Didn’t like it one bit.
And Ivan was correct when he said it had too many similarities to ANH.
But hey, it seems I’m in a tiny minority so there ya go. For those that enjoyed it more than I, good for you

In all seriousness, one tantrum was bad enough but two? Not sure about you but I expect more from my Sith bastards and 2IC who specialises in rottenness. You didn’t see the other bloke (General Hux) going all ape-sh*tty when things went awry.
I liked the differing light sabre styles of kylo, rey and Finn. Kylo was wild, large swings, brute force, little fine control. Finn was desperate but fairly solid. Rey used te light sabre like a staff, lunging forward instead of swinging, relying on nimbleness rather than strength, using the surroundings to her advantage.
It felt like this was the first duel all three had ever been in. The masterful skills of the trained Jedi rightfully had not been learnt. Desperation instead of training.
