Final team lists: Queensland v NSW, State of Origin I

Queensland and NSW have confirmed their 17-man line-ups for the 2019 Holden State of Origin series opener at Suncorp Stadium.

Both sides will run out as named last week, with coaches Kevin Walters and Brad Fittler not springing any surprises on game day.

Queensland debutants Moses Mbye, Joe Ofahengaue and David Fifita will come off the bench while Cody Walker, Nick Cotric, Cameron Murray, Jack Wighton and Payne Haas will make their Origin debuts for NSW.

Daly Cherry-Evans will captain the Maroons for the first time, while Boyd Cordner again leads the Blues as they begin their bid to repeat last year’s series win.

Wouldn’t go that far. NSW looking better up front. Queensland look better in space. Tedesco and Munster both having huge games.

Good game so far. NSW looking good through the centre, QLD looking threatening out wide. Hopefully QLD can get a legal try this half!!!

It’s one thing I dislike about league. They use technology too much and kill the excitement a bit. I’d like the refs to back themselves a bit more rather than referring to the video ref all the time. Maybe even a review system like cricket. If it’s a questionable call, the opposing team can ask for a review. If they get it right they keep it, if they get it wrong they lose it.

Would keep the game flowing a bit more
