Tasmania - stole GWS media guy and $1B and Ken

Or that the lizard person conspiracy is having budget problems and are having to re-use their old facemeat masks…

Does Kenny coming to Tassie reinforce that old gag about Tassie being proof people from Adelaide can swim @Aceman ?

Thank goodness Essendon have Rossa to recruit properly before these ridiculous draft concessions come in next year.

From The Age,

They will have the No.1 pick in next year’s draft as well as picks No.3, 5, 7, 9, 11 and 13 with No.5, 7, 11, and 13 to be traded for player talent.

They can also recruit one uncontracted player from each club as part of their list build and are eyeing off players such as Dockers captain Alex Pearce, Richmond’s Rhyan Mansell and Collingwood’s Beau McCreery.

So they have picks 1,3 & 9 for drafting and every other pick needs to be traded for existing players. Doesn’t sound like it’s even as compromised as Richmond having 4 first rounders the other year.

I first thought of The Kennards Hire advertising

Agreed

You’ve missed the 17yr old pre-listing and impacts on 2028 and 2029.

They also get to prelist 6-8 2027 draftees this year. So if they pick well enough (hard) the draft could be missing 7 odd of its best players before it even begins.

They will probably just trade 5 pick and a crap player for pick 4. Similar to what Gws did to group their picks in their first season.

Exactly, those details weren’t listed in this article.

I think I posted something earlier in this thread from afl.com, on how ridiculous the draft concessions are.

Here’s some it

  • The Devils being able to have up to 10 rookies in 2028 and up to 12 between 2029-2031. From 2033, their list size will be adjusted to be in line with all other clubs.
  • The $5 million sign-on bonus can be spread over 2028 and 2029, with the total amount spent each year not to exceed $3 million or be less than $2 million.
  • Tasmania being able to sign up to eight 17-year-olds in each of 2026 and 2027, with a maximum of 12 total across the two years.
  • Two ‘mini drafts’ in 2027 and 2028 with two selections each. The Devils will be able to trade away rights to the selections during those years’ respective trade periods.
  • Draft picks No.1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11 and 13 and the first selection of each subsequent round in 2027 (picks No.5, 7, 11 and 13 must be traded or rolled forward for a maximum of two years).
  • Draft picks No.5 and 9 in 2028 and 2029 (both No.5 picks must be traded)
  • Picks No.1, 2 and 3 in the 2027 rookie draft and selection No.1 in the 2028 mid-season rookie draft as a replacement for its otherwise lowest pick.
  • Signing up to 18 uncontracted players from rival clubs across 2027-28, with a maximum of one per club.
  • A window in 2027 when the Devils will be able to sign players who have previously nominated for any draft, provided they have not been on an AFL list. The Devils will be able to trade the right to sign an undrafted player to another club in exchange for a trade.
  • Access to up to four players directly from its VFL team to its AFL rookie list in 2027**

Stadium works have started.

Very good signing, extremely highly regarded. Didnt think he was looking to move, money talks.

Yet after almost two years we are still looking for one but I was told all these additional part time development coaches would do the trick by some on here.

Another enormous blunder.

We are not a drawcard in any shape or form and to be honest I just don’t think a lower profile head coach is going to help in that regard either in terms of players and staff.

Anyway…..

That’s an excellent appointment by Tassie.

They are apparently paying him big coin.

AFL will be broke by the end of this TV deal.

Who is coughing up to fund Tassie ontop of GWS and Gold Coast?
